'Hey Nutt - "Total Top Replacement" does that mean they changed out the mechanism?

Thanks - Matt

I am not saying this is common, I have been through the top replacement issue (4 times). With a top Treatment and washing with a light brush my top now is looking really good. It's been a little more than four months since my total top replacement and things look really good.
They're starting on my total replacement (all mechanisms/arms & top fabric) today. I hope I get the same result; this will be my 3rd top (including the original). If the rub marks return, then I may give them 1 more chance at total top replacement due to the claim by a member here that Art Spong informed them there is a new assembly for our tops on the production line starting sometime this month.

I LOVE this car, even with the rub marks & I don't want to trade this 45th Edition for another...

Yep, total top replacement, Canvas, Mechanics, and Water Management. I saw the case it was shipped, right off the assembly line. So far so good !

Are you experiencing a concern with the top? If you want, please send me any details of what you are experiencing and I can see if my resources here at GM can provide a resolution for your concern. Also please include your VIN. I look forward to your reply.

Dakota- if you look toward the bottom forward of the driver side "sail", you can see a small circular protrusion mark... I have that also after the last top fiasco... it's nearly a full whole. I posted about this before, but no one responded... you're the first I've seen with this besides myself...

My tops being replaced again next month... they're aware of this issue and claim they will find/fix the casue during the top replacement, waterbag replacement, carpet relacement...

That's what the dealer called the triangular fabric behind the side rear windows...

The mark I'm referring is about 4" from the rear side window, and 1.5" up from the trim

Update....sorta kinda not really.

So Donna from GM called as promised yesterday for an update. She stated that she had been working since last Wednesday or Thursday to try to get information from the dealer and has not heard anything yet.*

I told her that that's curious since every time I call and leave a message I get a call back. And I'm "just" a customer. Not "mama" GM. Also told her that the service manager is on vacation until next Monday and she said then she'd expect a call from his replacement.*

Hey Brandon, how about being useful and affecting some results to that end? Please put your money where your mouth is, huh? Make me a believer.

This woman is extremely robotic, and so far useless to me. She said she'd call me back Thursday morning with an update. I'm sure there won't be any.*

this is a private message transcript between brandon and inon the 19th of june relati

Dakota74,
Have you spoken with an attorney?I'm asking because we have a separate group that deals directly with attorneys with specific channels to follow. However, GM would like to be given the opportunity to resolve any concerns you may currently be experiencing.

I am giving GM an opportunity to solve this issue now before it goes further.*Currently she (Donna from the Business Relations Dept) is waiting for the dealer to respond, however I am concerned with more spots of rubs and such; however their first fix didn't work - they replaced the canvas only and wasted money. Now they should replace the whole thing because it obviously didn't work.*Or, promise to replace it all when the new top which has been rumored, comes out.

Brandon replied with this:

Thank you for the reply. I sincerely do apologize for any frustrations that you are experiencing. I can understand how this can be maddening for you. If you would like please send me your case number and I can check it out for you. If you don't have the case number available, you can also just send me your first and last name with your VIN.Thank you for your patience as we work toward a resolution.

I then replied with my full name and info and Brandon then replied with this:

I have looked up your name and found the cases that have been worked on so far. It already looks like your case is already with the appropriate groups. Unfortunately I cannot do anything with the case as it is not within my parameters to do so. But if you would like to keep me updated, I would truly appreciate it.

What I am looking for right now is a completely new top. Everything. In fact, what I want is this in writing, and then I am going to wait for the rumored new top to come out and then get that one.

Not just the canvas. The whole thing.

They have one more chance to have the car, which is next Tuesday. That's their third time.

"Parameters"?
Meaning that Brandon doesn't have any decision making authority. He is simply here in a customer relations capacity. If you'll notice, almost all of his posts are are to appolozie and open a case number for you, which ultimately routes you back to your dealer. OR, he advertises features on the camaros for those that ask questions or express interest in owning one. The other perk for GM is that by having someone on here in Brandon's capacity that responds to us, they can say in a formal proceeding that GM did continuously try to work with us on fixing our vehicles. It lessens the blow in the court of public opinion.

Anyhow, that's just my .02
