Regardless of personal opinion, it's a straight up a-hole move to come out and verbally knock a complete stranger over their vehicle whether they earned it themselves or not (which is only an assumption since they're a stranger).

I think people think these cars are a lot more expensive than they are.

Many people, especially in this country and in the south have a thing called 'work ethic' that basically helps form their character around working for what you hold/keep. When a child (yes, child, you won't believe how much you progress from age 18 to 25) is behind the wheel of a very expensive vehicle (in most people's cases) there aren't really many explanations other than gifted, given to, handed to, etc. Is it *morally wrong* for a mom/dad to gift their child something? No...

BUT...

Is it spoiling the child? Yes. Is it teaching work ethic? No. Is it teaching value? No. Are you rewarding hard work? No. Getting good grades is not hard work, that's what is expected of you as a productive member of society...working hard would be someone who manned the horns of an entire family, worked 2 jobs at age 16, raised their brothers and sisters, shit like that. THAT is respectable and hard work and THAT should be rewarded, not because some 18 or 20 year old got some good grades in highschool or college.

I think it's a double edged sword, older folks envy the fact it is a very nice car, expensive, and in the hands of an inexperienced child who more than likely did not work for it in any way shape or form, and probably grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth as well. MATURE individuals realize this, understand it's a nice car regardless and keep their opinions to themselves...IMMATURE individuals act like the guy the OP is referencing.

I got help on my first car from my parents. You know what it was? 1997 grand prix. $3000 of which I paid half. THAT is a starter vehicle, not a brand new Camaro.

If i stumbled across someone young, say 19 or 20 in a Camaro that they PAID FOR and/or obtained a loan for THEMSELVES, with NO assistance from family - then yes, they deserve it ethically and I respect that.

PS...when you misspell 'very' as 'vary' in the thread title, that also knocks the respect bar down a few notches.

Oh yeah, 18 and married? There's about a 85% chance that marriage is going to fail, RARELY do people know what they truly want at 18 let alone 30. Good luck, rofl.
I was +1 to this post 100% till the last line. You very closely mirror my thoughts on kids with these cars, or brand new cars in general.
That being said, 18 or not, it's not cool to insinuate that any person's marriage is going to fail based simply on the guy's age. Yes, the age thing is going to be a huge hurdle, but you don't have to point it out. One of the most happily married couples I know got married when he was 18 and she was 16. They are in their 40's now with grandkids. Not too bad being able to enjoy your grandkids in your 40's....

The truth hurts man. Yes, people who get married at 18, 19, 20 and stay married for decades are the *exception* to the rule, not the other way around. I don't know about you but 90% of the decisions I made when I was 18 were not founded in logic, let alone making a life-changing decision like getting married. Plus like the one poster said, who the hell desires 1 girl the rest of their life at 18? Man, i was f*cking tons of girls, and like the other guy said maybe we're just manwhores...

If it works out, great, more power to them. Marriage isn't the same institution it used to be, no matter what the age though...and the younger you go, the more chance that it fails.

At any rate, bottom line was nobody should be such a dick to someone over a vehicle. Yeah, i don't respect young kids who didn't work for their keep but am I going to pull up next to one and make comments? Hell no.

If you're 18 and own a cleaners, coffee shop, multiple vehicles and more businesses you 'plan on purchasing', when exactly did all this begin, because legally you cannot own a business until you are actually 18 years old...so you admit you suddenly up and bought a cleaners, coffee shop, 2 vehicles which total close to $75,000....within the last 6 months?

"vary", "whit", "whitch"...your spelling and grammar astounds me.

I am curious though, because based off your statements you apparently have enough capital to start 2 businesses in the last 6 months and purchase cars that total close to $75,000.

My bullshit meter is overloading.

You have to understand...the internet is a dark, dark place. You come on here and make statements that really cannot be validated. People use context clues and go by what you say to form an opinion of whatever societal interaction they are having at that time. You cannot even speak and/or type proper english and talk as if you were raised in a sub-par environment, and you want the internet world to believe that you magically did all this at 18? There is more to the story than you are leading on, getting on the net and bringing up such information in the first place projects egotism and you paint yourself in a negative light when you make such claims.

I will leave it at this - you might be a nice guy in real life, cool, whatever. I really don't care one way or the other where or how you obtained such things but I do enjoy calling out a story ridden with holes and then when the author himself doesn't even answer the simple question of how he purchased said items at 18 years old it goes to further validate the fact that your story isn't completely true.

And we all are thinking in the back of our heads that you probably just deal drugs and are exaggerating your life situation.

You own a business with spelling and grammar like that? Did your mommy buy that for you? No offense but no one saves up the capital to buy a business from working odd jobs and such since you were 14. I'm sorry but I'm calling bullshit as well. Unless you were given this money by someone. Like a rich parent.
