Man I man, you folk just don't listen. It was a tie. One car handles better. One car is faster. Tie. No clear winner. Pick the one you like. End of story.

No it won't it will mean it was faster on that track. The ZL1 handles better like a Ferrari handles better than a Veyron but the Veyron is faster. Doesn't mean one or the other couldn't win on any given track.

So once again for the slow kids. ZL1 handles better. GT500 is faster. Tie.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next h2h says this very thing. Tie.

But the thing that gets me is that some people say things like "The Inside Line tests weren't valid." These comments are mostly made by non-camaro owners.

So while it may seem like we are pre-judging people, I think it happens after people make unsubstantiated claims to belittle the camaro. That's when the judging starts.

Actually road courses reflect more of what the average owner will be faced with whenever he is out driving. Unless all he does is drive on a straight road from stoplight to stoplight.
No, but the average people will line up and do the stoplight grand prix. How many are going go race full bore down a back road? On a road course I think its going to come down to the type of track that is going to determine which car is going to win. A tight technical track the ZL1 should destroy the GT500. But a big open track with nice straights and sweeping turns I think the GT500 will come out ahead. Yes the ZL1 beat the GT500 in the slalom and skidpad they are tight technical tests and the ZL1 showed its brilliance there.
But in the end, how many people on this forum or most other muscle car forums actually road race their cars? I can imgine its a far smaller number than those of us that drag race our cars.

Totally agree... I hope to make use of this car on the road tracks for sure and I'm in an area where they exist, but most are closed clubs and very expensive. I've already gotten an invite and will go soon, but it will pale in comparison to how many times I will hit the drag strip.

Cost is where it's at. Every time I do a track day, I'm out at a MINIMUM $300. Not to mention how taxing it is on your brakes and tires. Drag strip is $10 bucks, you run all night, and wears a tiny amount of your tires. Good to go.

Sometimes it does. The ZL1 and the GT500 both deserve all the props they get and those in denial just need to relax and realize most of the world will just think "cool car" and go on about their business.

Also factor this, if you are even slightly serious about road courses you would select neither of these overweight beasts.
