Indy 500 Program Pace Car Ad question.

For those of you who went to the Indy 500 and bought a program, is there a Camaro advertisement featuring the SS Pace Car in it? I want to know if I should purchase one from the web site or ebay. The 1982 program had a 2 page ad on the back of the front cover, and I think there was one in both the '69 and '67 programs as well, not sure about the '93. Thanks for the info.

Sorry man, I can't spend that much on a program that I only look at for a few days after the race. I didn't pick one up this year.:(

If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll look this afternoon when I get home. We go to the race every year and always buy a program, but I haven't even looked through it yet!

I'm sorry Scott, just as I got home a buddy called me wanting help getting the tranny put back in his '67 Firebird. After we about got it done he discovered he'd put a linkage bolt in the pressure plate so we got to do it again! So I forgot. I'll get an answer for you today!

We make a pretty neat pair when we're cruising both our cars together!

Scott, had my wife bring it to work. There are no GM ads with the Camaro pace car in it. There is a picture of it on page 20 (about 1/3 page) on the "Race Day Awards" page. There is also a short single page article "Setting the Pace" on page 76 with basically the same picture and a small inset of a '69 ('67 also but you can barely see it).
No two full page centerfold like they had in '67, (I've got a couple of those).

Thanks for the info, now I don't have to purchase one. It's amazing how much less advertising there is now with GM's money problems, etc. As of this date I've only seen one ad for the new camaro in the automobile mags. Anyway, thanks for looking!! Great race, too bad Marco got pinched on the first lap. At least with all the cautions you were able to see the Camaro on the track quite a bit.

I'll bet! I remember seeing that car at the "Back at Indy" gathering. I always loved that color on the early Firebird! Yours is awesome as well.

Thanks! My buddy Larry was pretty stoked when Ed Peters presented him with his choice of the show award. Ed told him it was a perfect example of something you just don't see anymore. He kept it all stock (except the wheels) including the 3-on-the-floor shifter and original color (Montrose blue I beleive).
