I do have serious issues in the vehicle they're claiming they did it in... The word is it was either on DRs (that were shown in the video) or it was a heavily treated track with enough sticky to pull the soles clear off your shoes.. Either way, nothing remotely close to anything any of us would ever see .. and.. technically, if you want to jack around with "stickiness" of a surface to that extent, then a lot of cars have the potential to get great 60' times..
Agreed with everything you've said. That's why I said a VERY remote chance it happened. I wasn't there, so I can't say with utmost confidence it didn't happen, but my gut and experience says "no way".

It's ultimately what you get to the rear wheels after parasitic driveline losses that count.

I certainly don't discount a possible 117-118, but I'm not suprised by the 114-115 range.

I'm not familiar with the gearing in the camaro. Is there a shift just before the beams with the 3.73s in the zl1? It seems like mid 12s have become the norm, which is not at all a slow time. . . just slower than expected I guess.

They did, just not on the drag strip.

Regardless if it's corrected or not, its shows what its capable of with good air.
Tires only on the Boss and ZL1 and it's going to be a REALLY good race with both in the high 11's.

IMO, stock for stock, I think the Boss will run with ZL1 down 1/4. The GT500 will walk the Z though.

Did they not claim a typo next issue and correct the 60?

Did they?

Guess it's like a correction in the papers.. Big story on front page... Retraction is on page 5, bottom right, buried in fluff in 4pt font.

The numbers I and many others saw were directly off the timeslips in the video.

How could they do that? The timeslips were in the video. . .

It's important to understand where that number comes from, and that it's not the actual numbers the cars run, was my point.

I'm pretty sure all of the major magazines correct their runs.

Maybe.....but I know for a fact MT does, and I'll speculate that's why their numbers are usually the fastest of all the publication reviews...regardless of vehicle.

We'll see better 1/4 mile times as time goes on. As more and more cars reach their full break-in and we have some cooler weather, the numbers will get better.

CTS-V times for reference:
