I buy all my supplies and carry them to a guy I know that owns a garage.
He charges me $10 to change the fluids. |

I have been taking my SS to the dealer for everything. I've always felt the dealer is the most qualified place to take any car. They are a lot more qualified than the local Jiffy Lube that the employees come and go almost daily.
I also want to have a complete maintenance through one place. In addition to my opinion the dealer has the most qualified people, they can check for any TSB's or know of any problems specific to each vehicle. The only problem I have ever had with a dealer 30+ years of owning cars was with my new Camaro. I had a tire sensor that went bad and when the dealer replaced it they damaged my rim. They replaced the rim @ no charge and no argument. I've had numerous problems with the Jiffy Lube type companies and with private repair shops. Russ |

FWIW, I've always changed my own oil, but I have gone to quick change shops (for state inspections) and watched the techs while I waited.

I go to my local autoparts store (Advance Auto Parts) here in Tampa and buy Mobil 1. I then take it across the street to the quik lube place and they take care of it for me. Works good for me.

The only thing I haven't taken my car to the dealer for was for installing mods, and wheels and tires. It's been taken to them for all warranty work (Clutch replacemement, bad exhaust leak, random noises they couldn't find that still happen to this day), and oil changes.
I buy Mobile 1 at Walmart as someone else mentioned, and it's pretty much the only thing I buy there. The dealer charges me $15 for labor, a new AC Delco filter, and disposal of the old. |

Anyplace that sells new oil will take back your old oil. Just funnel the old oil into the containers that the new oil came in, and take it back. Very easy.

I do not have any objection of having my dealer perform an oil change. However, I enjoy doing it myself. With a low profile racing jack and two jack stands, it's a breeze. Since places like AutoZone recycles old oil.... dropping it off there take very little effort.
Fast lube shops like fast food restaurants are full of kids and other people who rather be somewhere else. I can’t count the times I’ve had too much oil, too little oil, leaking oil, missing dip sticks, missing oil cap or something totally unrelated to my oil change screwed up do to incompetence. If you do it yourself... you know that it's done right. |

Dealership. First change was on the house as a promotion, second change (yesterday) was $40.
I have road hazard coverage on my tires and got them to remove a nail from my rear, left tire. Didn't penetrate. In and out in about half an hour or so. No complaints here.

I let the dealer do it, and I keep the receipts. If something effed up happens, I can always prove it's their fault. But I haven't had any issues with mine.

Dealership, Mobil 1 and AC Delco filter. Pricing has been between $66 and $85. I like having a good relatioinship with them, but I also have a good dealership.

I bought my ss used 90 miles from where i'am at. Took it to chevy dealer 5 miles from me, charged me $83 and some change. Won't be going back to them needless to say. If you were to talk to them about warranty work, they would damn near deny do to a simple cai. Will be doing all my next changes and keep receipts.

You just got this beautiful brand new car with all that wonderful warranty also don't try to save a $1 by buying a no name filter at Walmart, got to experience a cheap filter from an quick lube place destroy an engine as it disintigrated and little pieces of filter floating around in your oil will distroy an engine and you warranty won't cover that unless it was a A/C delco filter from a dealership |

I just went in and got my last free oil change at the dealership and going forward will be changing it myself at home. The first time, they gave the car a "complimentary wash" which was a disaster so each time after that I specified NO WASH. It became a joke when they saw me coming, "We'll have our new guy wash it for ya". Ha. Ha. It took me quite a while to buff out the 4x6" X their stupid lotboy scrubbed into the hood with his brillo pad.
