Getting ready to trade up. 'nother trade thread

I'm sitting here on pins and needles, its always a big deal for me.

When I take this cash down payment to the dealer there's no turning back.

My car...2010 IOM with black rallys 2LT RS 6 speed manual, sunroof...9000 miles

The new car....2012 SS1 IOM w/6 speed and highwing spoiler, and they are throwing in the rally stripes if I put deposit down 'today'

$11,000 out the door, the car is at another dealer in another state, they are gonna drive it over here so the local dealer can sell it to me. That's the only part that sucks, and who knows where it's at? Salesman says it will have around 300 miles on it. That's the breaks though, if I ordered one the deal would cost way more, and that was a crap shoot they even found a car I wanted to buy.

I'm joining the V8 club. No one needs to egg me on, I know this is a very fair deal.

I would rather have them "throw in" towing the car rather then the stripe package.
Someone driving a 6sp V8 CAMARO for 300 miles give or take would scare the heck outta me.

Conditions are, has to be "like new" that includes tire wear As far as the way they run the engine, can't hurt it. If it's gonna fail I hope it fails on them.

I'm very specific on what I want too & we are at their mercy a little (or a lot sometimes when we want what we want. Thanks for your advice on my thread about trading up.

Good luck to us both!!!

This...

I was looking at getting an IBM from across state driven here and besides the price difference that I found to that of my actual bought black one, them driving it for 100 miles scared me off.

I know that these cars "sit" at the dealership all day and are driven recklessly or to the extreme but at least that's for only 20ish miles give or take before someone buys it, not 100+.

I wouldn't hand them a dime until I inspected the entire car upon arrival at the selling dealership.

Best of luck.

Interestingly enough I am in a very similar boat. I'm waiting on my victory red 2SS. The dealer that has it is in Maryland and I live in New Jersey. My dealer offered to have someone drive it over here but I am NOT comfortable with some dude driving my car for 250+ miles in 100 degree weather across multiple states. I told him we can work out a deal on the flatbed cost but I refuse to let anyone drive my car but me! Anyways congratulations on your new ride!

If you feel like that extra money is worth having the V8 then go for it

Just go get it yourself. Do the paperwork at your dealership then drive with someone to go get it.

Its a day trip
