I myself use 93. I usually fill up at 3/4 or 1/2 a tank, so the extra $1.50 or so won't break me. |

Best advice, check your owners manual. If it says 87 Octane, good. If you choose to put 91 Octane, great. Just know that you don't need to. Todays car manufactures have this down to a science. Its recomended for a reason. But, if you really want to feel a differance in fuel, shop around and find some 97 or higher. Not recomended for your daily driving.....

I don't think the question is can run on 87, it's what should you, or what do you, run it on. I mean shit, you can run it on $75 tires do. doesn't mean it's the best option or many people do.

I use Shell V-Power in my lil V6, and actually, even my lawn mower and leaf blower. I do notice even my 2-cycle weed wacker idles much smoother and doesn't stall when running better gas.

Well, you are correct sir! http://www.hennensautoservice.com/fu...pane/index.php "Shell Regular and Plus gasolines, which meet the TOP TIER standard, also contain more than two times the amount of cleaning agents required by the EPA. Shell V–Power contains more than five times the minimum amount of cleaning agents required by government standards and twice the cleaning agents required by the TOP TIER standard." While the math seems off, Shell premium does have more detergents. |
