LOL me too. Already put 500 miles on the car driving down to the NJ shore. It was the best 3-hour ride of my life down there. I lost count of all the head-turners.

500 MILES IN A WEEK X 52 WEEKS = 26,000 a year

60,000 divided by 26,000 = 2.3 years. Your base warranty will expire and the "extra profit" one is dead before you use it?

Round it down to 20 a year.... the warranty is not valid.

Extended warranties are designed to make the warranty company money.

Why not just send them a box full of cash?

I went for the 72,000/6 year bumper to bumper. I didn't get the extended plan on the last two cars I've had and spent more than double (each) what I paid on this. Too many pricey extras can go wrong these days and the powertrain alsways seems to be the last thing to break.

Given we are dealing with the same dealership, what'd they charge you for that (if you don't mind me asking)?

It's better to have it in a fund anyway cause that way you can have it for other emergencies that can come up.

The car is gonna maybe need a waterpump at 100,000 miles, a battery, and major tune up and fluid enema. The engine and tranny are not going to give out till later. After your extended does.

Might need a clutch job but that's a scheduled consumeable anyway like brakes (normally not covered).

And you'll probably need tires.

It's still the same fundamentals- they're not harder to fix.

yes that is true. if you need a new piston ring you can open her up and put in another one. but if your computer short circuit, your ECU needs to be flashed, you drop a penny into your power outlets and now half of your lights wont turn on and replacing a fuse wont work. then what are you going to do?

Not trying to argue just a warranty for a car is just like paying for car insurance most people dont even use it but we all pay it

I figured since I won't be driving the car to work or in the winter, I can use the car as much as I want now. Driving to the shore was about 180 miles one way, so it puts a lot on the odometer. I just don't want to go crazy with the miles.

But yeah, love the driving. I just go out for the sake of driving around.
