Did the dealer do a PDI before you got the car? Maybe the tranny fluid was low? Does it make the noise while driving or idling, or just while the clutch is depressed?
If it is only when the clutch is depressed it is probably the clutch/throwout bearing. If it does it when it is idling or when the car is moving and your foot is away from the clutch pedal, it is possibly in the tranny.
I've seen a couple other members say they have the same issue, please let us know what you find.

How bad is the shake? It should be mild not crazy.

It's kinda one of the characteristics of V8 engines at idle speed. They smooth out when your cruising. It's just the physics and the powa.

After a while you will crave that shake.

The Acura has you spoiled it's quiet by engine.

edit add: OH you know what else I was thinking just now. That 1 thru 4 shifting lock. That could screw up a clutch break in. I don't see how anyone can break in a clutch and tranny with that thing. It's like your driving with a broken tranny in that mode.

Thanks for posting the pics, I have this color on a '08 Cobalt and thought it would look great on the new Camaro/ w tan or grey interior.

1. Really shouldn't idle rough
2. Grinding sounds bad, I would get it in as you may be doing more damage each time it grinds.
3. You should be able to take it to any Chevrolet dealer. If you can find one that sells and/or works on a lot of Corvettes, they usually are pretty good with the Camaros and are used to fussy customers.

Good luck.

do you have an auto or manual?? car looks great, and btw. The engine idle is probably bad. But I love that. Gives me a feeling of power.

The noise is between shifts. Not when the clutch is in. I let out the clutch and it makes the noise between each shift. As far as the rough idle though it may be like Vash said. I'm spoiled by the Acura.

By the way, whoever made this smiley is my hero. It's good to see my slogan somewhere important.

I like that smiley also. I don't know if they will come up with my slogan or not but it's "Sounds like you want to argue" Sorry for hijacking the thread, I'm bad at doing that but usually it's all Bonnie's fault.

Tranny: You may (hopefully) be experiencing the "marbles in a can" noise reported by many Z06 owners.

Here are some threads:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ew-08-z06.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...-in-first.html

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ew-08-z06.html

I haven't done the research, but I am pretty sure the cars share the same, or similar, Tremec tranny.

Some say this is "normal" -- others mention it may be a rear diff fluid change required, and/or a clutch pack change.

I may be totally wrong, but this at least gives you some speaking points to the dealer when you take her in.

Engine shake? It takes awhile for the computer to "learn" your driving style. Have them check it out, but I'd bet the computer will "smooth that out" over time.

EDIT: the sunroof - DEFINITELY pursue that further!!!!

I hope its nothing serious. Good luck, and thanks for reporting the issue.

I think that's it. I'm spoiled by the Acura. As far as the 1 thru 4 shifting lock, I don't understand that at all. I read about it in my manual but I don't understand it or what the purpose of it would be.

I agree with the others, take it in for the transmission and sunroof issues. The idle is likely ok. As far as other people touching your car. Many people touched and sat in you car before it ever got to you. It's just a car so relax.

If I am correct in understanding what you are talking about, it is a "feature" to meet CAFE fuel economy standards, and to not be punished by a "gas guzzler" tax. It can be easily turned off.

Google "CAGS eliminator." VERY simple fix.
