The mechanical pump is maxxed out first. We may run into issues with the electric, but you can probably solve that with a BAP.

I'm not king until I take the belt away from HDRS.

Have to agree on that one. He is the undisputed King of the 1/4 mile to date.

You have all beat as far as power though.

Just a quick update. We are starting to pull some timing up top because of the high compression ratio. We can't do much more on pump gas until we can lower the CR. So we are probably only going to make 450 RWHP on pump gas as is. We are going to move on with a track tune using Meth/Water and see how far we can go. We may wait until Rhino has installed the new intake tube to do that (I've left it up to he and Vince). Don't know how much more we can get there, but I still think a safe 500 RWHP is doable and I'm only really shooting for around 470 or so. When I say safe I mean that in terms of detonation. Of course this is putting a lot of strain on the engine so I wouldn't recommend this to those of you that aren't adventerous.

Haha I'm in your head. Ya they are taken awhile but I don't mind. I want to drive around with the standard pulley awhile dyno it with the standard pulley and then do the same with the OD pulley to see the differences

The intake tube modification has been made. We are just waiting for Vince to get back from vacation. I'm not complaining about that, because it is going to be above 100 again today, and they are predicting 83 for Monday .

Anyway, while we wait I thought I would take a trip down memory lane. There aren't many from the original crowd interested in FI that visit here any more (nice to see Z is back). I wasn't even one of the originals. It has been a long time getting here, but I think it was worth it. We now have lots of FI options and the mods for a NA monster are coming along nicely. There is one thing I want to bring emphasis to. Balls!

Many of you will remember that he jumped on here claiming he was going to build a 600 crank HP V6 intending to stir up the V6/V8 animosity. Not going to restart that, but I did point out to all the naysayers that I thought we could get these LLTs to that level with about 10 psi ON THE STOCK INTERNALS. Well, we've hit that goal on my car at only 8-9 psi. Took a lot of hard work from a lot of people (won't name them here because if I forget someone feelings will get hurt). So Balls, where ever you are, here's how you do it!

Nice walk down memory lane. I haven't been here as long as some, but I've definitely been here since the begining before any aftermarket products were available for the V6. At one point we began to wonder if there would ever be any FI Camaro V6s out there besides just a few special project cars.

For some reason the user Balls doesn't come to mind, but the story sounds familar to me.

I just want to congratulate you for hitting this goal...it is pretty damn awesome. Now we have to start chasing those 1/4 mile times as much as we've been chasing HP numbers.

Congrat on the gains. I been here for a minute. But not really on Fi till recent. My goals was lower than yours because I was not sure our car could do it till now. Man that's awesome you made all the talks of hp words come to life.

The Beast is Ready

Just got back from picking it up. We didn't do another dyno, just not enough time. She'll make whatever power she will make.

The crankcase evacuation setup is pretty sweet, but may need to be tweaked. The build two pullies and mounted them. One is mounted to the waterpump and drives the vacuum pump. That dumps into a catch can, which is vented to release the gasses, then the oil feeds back to the scavenge pump and back into the crankcase. No more emptying my catchcan. However, it makes a bit of noise, especially at idle because it is putting a lot of vacuum on it. I'm thinking we may have to play with the pulley size to get it right (I know, it sounds like the SC guys). Also with the two bad pistons it is pulling quite a bit of vapor and oil through. I'm sure it is going to be smokey under the hood until I get that fixed. Tracey, where are those new pistons???

Anyway, thanks to everyone at GPI for the great work and getting it done in time for CFest. Again, thanks to Tracy for always being there to answer questions and designing this setup from the beginning.

CFest here I come.
