I agree with the cubic inches over liters. Also like the way fbodfather thinks, 396 427.... that would be awesome. I know we'll probably never see that factory again, but we can still dream about it right? As far as the afm, as long as I can get my 400+ horses and the exhaust to compliment it, I'll be happy. I gotta have my v8 rumble dammit. Tell me they will figure out a way to make it sound right sitting at the stoplight. Nothing like an intimidating rumble just sittin there or cruisin slow through town.

Seriously people, don't buy the hype - DON'T PAY ABOVE STICKER!
I certainly like how you think, and no doubt, I agree with you. Unfortunately the rich guys will get what they want first, then, all of us "bust your @ss 'till you die" kind of guys will get our prize. On the flip side, GM will produce such a fair amount that the dealerships will not have a choice but to sell at MSRP. I'll have mine within the first six to eight months of production.

OK --- you gotta have some faith here peeps!

I've said it until I'm blue in the face (oh -- wait -- it was the headlights that make me indigo......) -- anyway - I digress --

We intend to be the best out there.

Period.

(and pay no attention when people start spouting off 'liters' -- )

Some of us are used to saying "327" and "350" and "427" and "396" - and when you ask us liters -- we tend to mix 'em up. (me included, of course....)

I love how he has absolutely no information about the HP output!!! He only gave a tiiiiiiiny weeeeeee little bit about displacement!!!! So I'll go with the fact that the HP output is CORRECT!!!!!!

To each their own, personally I don't care about how high tech an engine is, so long as it makes the right sounds and gives the proper numbers. And by proper numbers, I mean hp, torque, weight, cost, and fuel economy. If an engine gives me all those in reasonable ammounts, I'll be happy with it. But high tech hurts cost and reliability, OHC's go for high revs over torque, something that I'm just not a fan of. OHV's are smaller and lighter. So overall, I'd rather have an OHV engine. Also,

One myth that I would like to address at this time, is about how OHV's are old while OHCs are new. OHV's are older, by about 20 years, possibly less. Not that big of a differance when looking at 100 years of automotive history.

Yup - that's the ticket. Listen to wisdom when you hear it.

Of COURSE!!! Who wouldn't want an LS engine?!?! The high powered version of the Camaro that is supposed to be mass produced first could very well be powered by the L76. I wouldn't be depressed with that. BUT, I think it's going to be getting just a wee bit more than 361hp. If they say 400hp, well...that'd be right on the mark for what GM's been saying all along. And, like everyone else has said, you could always mod a little getting more HP out of the L76.

Personally, I'd much rather have the LS3 and THEN mod it making a whole lot more power....IF that would even need to be done!

I think the L76 could be for the base...

LS3 for SS
LS3 SC for Z28

or flip flop the SS/Z28...either way. But, I think we could see a SC

Shakespeare's argument

What's in a name? 400 horses by any name would sound as sweet.
