oil filter housing stuck
Anyone have any tips for breaking lose the oil filter cap on the v6 camaro? I've tried a break bar, rubber mallet on the wratchet. I've tried everything and this thing just wont break loose. My cousin put it on there wayyyy too tight last time I guess. last time I trust him with anything...

And can your cousin read, it stats how much to torque it right on it. He probably also forgot to oil the ring so now it's fused. |

no the oil ring is on there. I put that on there. I also oiled the ring so I know it's not that. He just tightened it while I put the oil plug back in. which came out with no problems...

Are the v6's an element style or an actual metal filter?

I really don't have a solution for you but last time I had the oil change, the cap was very, very hard to unlock. I read somewhere that the cap has to be torqued at 25 Nm.

I believe it's 18 but not like there should be much question to it, it says it right on the cap.

Lefty Lucy, Righty Tighty- If you are using a breaker bar on that little cap and cannot loosen it you have a problem.
