Rubber seal on CAI?

Rubber seal came off of airbox that surrounds conical filter. Do i need to replace with some sort of weatherstripping or is it okay to run it without it, I realize that it isn't going to hurt anything, but was just wondering if it served a purpose.

It won't hurt it, but can make your IAT's higher since the air box will be getting hotter air from the engine bay.

I'm guessing your right because it seems like its running a little flatter through the rpm range as the car heats up. Thanks for the reply.

Doesn't help that the entire country is in a massive heat wave. When it's 100+ degrees outside, everyones cars are going to be a little flat.

No doubt. My CAI seal is fine and my car is still a pig right now!
