Sorry Scorps, I dont know, but I can tell you this, the GM tracking for me for my car is 100% useless. Links dont work for the sticker, 3 different sites give you different status info, we get sent email over 2 weeks ago from some guy named Larry from gm connects to contact our dealers for a rail car number and then it shows its bayed twice and not on a rail car. If you dont have tracking, you aint missing anything.

My dealer texted me the other day and basically saw some activity concerning the delivery of my car. He really did not go into any kind of specifics but felt like were going to see some good news next week. Hang in there everyone I think will see some ZL1's leaving the factory soon.

Aren't they moving production out of Oshawa, Canada, plant closing down I thought? I heard tell they are to move production to Bowling Green, KY, USA, home of the Vette.....
I also heard they had a quality problem a few months back and decided to finish what they had already almost all built up and then make the rest 2013's which is how I got screwed out of my order for a 2012 2SS/RS. In any case, God speed on your orders and enjoy! |

What they are closing is the consolidated assembly line. It's the flex plant that produces the Camaro.

Really don't think the tracking sites are useless. I would hate for anyone that does such awesome work for thousands of people to get discouraged because of the people at Chevrolet making the best product possible. If your car was delivered with issues that could have been corrected at the factory? Would you be bad mouthing Chevrolet as well? I'm not picking on you. Just some insight... Me? Frustrated as hell it is taking longer than expected. Believe me. BUT? I'd rather get it as perfect as they can make it. Not delivered just to disappoint me when flaws overwhelm the car. Too much money to get less than the best. GMconnects? All the people over there are VOLUNTEERS!!! Brought that product forward because when the 5th Gen was first produced they wanted more information. And now even though they have no dog in the hunt they still offer their time to us as a service, just because they love the car that much. Read the forums at GMconnects, they get endless requests every day, not just the Camaro, but all of GM's products. THEY DESERVE THE HIGHEST RESPECT in my opinion. While they are not privy to the exact reasons to the holdup in delivery? They do not spread rumor and innuendo. Ask them a question and you don't wait days to get an answer. They are VOLUNTEERS! Imagine doing your job and on top of that? Hundreds of emails from customers asking about their cars, as well as the ones from people thinking they are actually GM paid employees that deserve the brunt of frustration on why or where is that car. Please don't let them think they are not appreciated. Chevrolet.com? IDK why their site is not up to date. Technology? Go figure. The reason the window sticker is not displyed is generally because it hasn't shipped yet. Once I learned that? I quit asking every day. Don't think this is troll mail. Thanks for giving me a chance to tell Larry and ALL the people at GMconnects another BIG THANK YOU, as well as help spread the news of the great job they do.. Peace. Remember.. CHEVY RULES!!!!

CosmoZL1 - Good to know that GMConnects is staffed by volunteers. I have been getting plenty of updates over the past 2 to 3 weeks.
06/28/2012 - (4B00) Your car is bayed and is waiting for transportation by truck, rail or transfer to vendor. My order included this line item: E2C ORDER TO DELIVERY EXPEDITE TO CUSTOMER Is this standard for all orders OR is there something dealers can do to expedite production?? |

I will appologize to everyone that volunteers their free time to provide us a service. I didnt know that was how gmconnects was set up. My error for not reading the fine print on that site. Also, useless was a little harsh. My complaint is and was that a lot of the time, I and others are left guessing what is going on with their car. For that, I blame chevy. There are a ton of ways this day and age to just communicate. Internet, email, phone, text, fax whatever. Even the dealers are told bits and pieces. Everything is a mystery it seems. The Chevy site has said its been shipped, some peopls show as delivered and they are not...The bayed not bayed stuff is on the gmconnects, so I wont complain anymore about them. if its a techno error on chevy.com that is causeing the misinformation, I would think that would be an easy fix for an IT person. If the window sticker cant be seen until the car ships, which I also have learned, dont put the link up until its working.....Sheesh... And yes, I want my car delivered with as few problems as possible. Is that what they are doing, holding them to fix problems? See, I just wanna know is all. I dont work there so i cant say 100% for certain, but I think the only difference is the radio on the 13's. I also think that radio has been in other GM cars for a litte while now. Again, I am sure I am just not understanding something with the hold up on shipping our cars. I am used to ordering a GM product, and it getting to me in right about 6 weeks. This is my first time to order something this hard to get ahold of. I feel like a kid waiting for santa to show up, cant get here soon enough. Oh, and your post where you chewed me out was your 69th post. I feel honored. :-) |

Now that I got my butt chewed...
I will appologize to everyone that volunteers their free time to provide us a service. I didnt know that was how gmconnects was set up. My error for not reading the fine print on that site. Also, useless was a little harsh.BadZL1, Thank you for taking the information for what it was,,, Not critisism. I'm dying to get this car. Had my entire summer planned for a pre- 4th of July delivery. Sold my truck and have a 2SS/RS that I have to keep the miles down on. LOL, Yeah, I want the new car. If you have seen the new ZL1's in person, you can see the ultimate in build quality. My current car has some flaws that I can live with. Have to look close to see them. This is the deal... I am not buying just any car. I'm paying after tax, title, registration, oh yes, interest, over 70k. As bad as it sucks I will wait knowing that the car won't sit for a month or two at the dealer waiting for parts or a recall fix. I've been lucky. Owned nothing but Chevy my entire life. (Except a tour in Europe in the mid-eighties) This is the biggest baddest car in my opinion from any automaker at this price bar none. A lot of technology comes together here and as a almost entirely new car it will take some time to get the bugs out. All this may sound like a load of doo-doo... But maybe you can find just a little solace knowing the minute you see your dream it will all be a distant memory. AND? Thanks for not taking my earlier comments as a put down or defensively. Not too many people would have responded with the class you showed. Peace.

As far as I've been told the E2C code is added to every order that is pre-sold. Meaning if a car is ordered for a specific customer. Not dealer stock. Hang out here long enough? You will learn more about car buying, car building, car shipping.. etc etc etc.. Crazy. So many people here that shares the same interests, Scary.
