Those look great. I'm going to start working on a design for my TSWs. BTW, UK is United Kingdom, not Ukraine.

well, i couldn't wait until tomorrow!!!
first off, if you are doing something similar to AR TTM Center Caps, here is what to do; i went in kind of blind, since i couldn't find any reference to how to get the factory decal emblem off. i tried to lightly pry it, but was afraid of damaging the chrome center cap. i did discover that the clear coating is pretty easy to remove. just start away from the edge and either cut or gouge (i used an awl) to start peeling away the clear coat, it's pretty flexible. then just peel it all away. now you have an option. i didn't do it this way, because i destroyed the first AR emblem, and if i did the others this way, they wouldn't be uniform. at this point you could just clean off the stock emblem with some rubbing alcohol and stick the new decal right to the top. the new decal would be almost perfectly flush. wish i would have done it this way!! what i did, was jam the awl into the center of the emblem and it cracked into four pieces, then i peeled those off the cap. then i stuck in a flat screwdriver and carefully popped off the center cap. (it has about a 1/4" hole in the middle of it.) i cleaned the old glue residue off with alcohol, and stuck on the new decals, perfect fit!!! the big difference is in the thickness, the new decals are .080" total thickness, and the orig is .180" thick including the .080 clear coat. so you'll have about .100" lip. if you just remove the orig clear coat, and stick the new decal on, it would be almost flush. peeling off clear coat; ![]() i placed a piece of the orig emblem on the cap for ref.; ![]() cleaned off residue; ![]() completed center cap; ![]() pretty close to my PS; ![]() overall i am happy with this little project. now what to do with the extra decal????? |
