What should I pay for this 84 z28???????

Ok, so this camaro is being sold locally and the guy is saying he is FIRM at $3,000.00 WITHOUT THE WHEELS, which I told him I wasn't interested in. Im actually planning on putting on my polished aluminums from my 2010 ss.

It has a 350 with a cam in it and he claims 50,000 miles on motor and trans, not sure how many on the body. He said he has a new red top coming in for it since the current one needs replacing. It is an auto tans.

So Is it worth paying 3 grand for this car without the wheels?

Camaros never came as ragtop so that one is aftermarket. It will be a huge leaker so pull the carpets and check for floorpan rust.
Those cheap seat covers probably means the upholstery is shot.
Check the VIN to make sure it is a real Z28.
A cammed 350 might not pass a sniffer at a smog check in Michigan.
Look under the trunk pad too for rust.
Loss of structural rigidity from the open roof means this car will rattle and shake over bumps.

some did but they were built into convertibles for the dealerships by a company called I think ASC who also did the T tops for them too. you can always tell if it is a ASC drop top as it has a hard cover that the soft top folds under. the ones with the soft top attached to the body like that (the up top pic) is defiantly done aftermarket and will not be nearly as good as the ones sold to dealerships.

this is what a proper 3rd gen drop top looks like as far as how you have to flip up the cover unfold the top etc, I personally would walk away from that one, who knows how bad the shop that did that conversion messed up on it.

Yep, agree. That car will be a huge money pit. Original engine was a computer controlled L69 Quadrajet L69 SBC. It was a 305 with about 180 hp.
That car looks molested and all the early computer ECU's were problematic

If you do buy one, don't put those 20s on it. That size looks ridiculous on anything other than a 5th gen.

Is it just me or does the drivers seat look busted?

Looks like it's falling out of the car.
