Will do. The ACE5 will be doing some planning at our July 14th Stone Mtn meet up.

I spoke to people at the Corvette Museum today. They are going to have group rate admission available for all the Camarovan visitors. They also have people at the museum who do professional photography that will take car pictures etc. We are going to have an area blocked off for us to park. I was thinking we should park around one of their circles for a big group photo. I told them it would be about 40 cars. As it gets closer I will update the numbers.

So how much time will we spend at the museum? Trying to determine our time schedule and when we'll have to leave the ACE5 point A to get to Indy in time to check in and get ready for the cruise.

Maybe we could schedule the tour for the return trip on Sunday, since the only thing CFest-wise that day is the farewell breakfast.

Sounds like a great opportunity!

Good option!

This is what I propose:

Have this as an option, and for those who want to do it, they will depart earlier and have the visit done by the time the group departing Atlanta arrives there for our last stop. That way we can all Camarovan in together, but the Atlanta group won't have to leave so early, unless they want to visit the Corvette museum. For those who want to visit the museum on Sunday, maybe they can talk Sparky into checking into a Sunday tour.

How does that sound?

The Corvette Museum tours are an at your own pace walking tour. It can be done in 30 minutes unless you want to read/look at every detail. As for a tour on Sunday, the museum is open 8-5 everyday except a few holidays. I am sure the discounted ticket price will be good for sunday also. I will check on that.

As for the group pictures, I really would like to do one big group shot. They can fit about 40 cars around their larger loop. They can do a pic from the top of the museum. I think a loop of cars and a "5" in the middle would be cool. If they will let up park in the grass. Again, I am going to pitch this idea to them.

Corvette Museum Pricing

I spoke to the Museum again today. If you want to see all the museum exhibits on a self paced walking tour you have to pay admission. The Corvette Museum store, Corvette Cafe, and the "new corvette delivery" area are free to walk through.

Here are the group discount prices for museum admission:

Adult $7
Senior $6
Child(6-16) $4
Under 6 FREE
Active Military FREE

I have arranged for us to have blocked off parking so we can do some pictures and have our cars "displayed" while we tour the museum. I will need an accurate count of cars a few days ahead of time so they know how much parking to save. I think 45 minutes - 1 hour would be plenty time to see ALL of the museum. Unless you stop and read everything, it can be done in 30 minutes. Between the museum, food, and photo ops, I think 1.5 hours in BG would be plenty.

As for food, the Corvette exit 28 off I-65 has the following food options.

next to museum:
Corvette Cafe (inside museum)
Wendy's
Hardee's
Jerry's

about 1 mile from museum
Sonic
Lee's Chicken
Peurto Vallarta

If you are not interested in the Museum but want food in Bowling Green, exit 22 (Scottsville Rd.) has the most options.

If you have other questions/concerns about passing through BG please feel free to ask.

Brian

Brian,

This sounds great. I am coming up with the ACE5 group on Thursday, but will be there for this for certain. Thanks for setting this up.

What time are you thinking you all will be at the museum to start the tour, what time do you want to do the picture and then depart. I am thinking we all want to be there in time to check in and go on the cruise..........just trying to figure out a timeline and see if it is feasible from Georgia........

Sounds like a great idea!
