Happened to mine too.

Car is a week old. Driving home tonight and I hear a grinding sound. Thought that I was dragging something. Pulled over and the front GFX point was touching the ground and pretty much grinded off with a big hole at the point? I read thru this thread and looked at the install directions. If I'm reading the instruction correctly it shows that the front fascia/bump needs to be removed

(Page 11- Disconnect the fascia wiring harness (1) from the vehicle
harness (2) on the RHS of the vehicle. Remove the fascia from the vehicle. )

to attached rivits to the front fascia to the front GFX. All i have is the side brackets and 3M tape on the side and one in front? Am i correct on this? I think the dealers might have skipped this part?

Sounds like what happened to me. The should be (8?) rivets/clips/pins along the back edge of the gfx panel tho.

My dealer just called to tell me that they have the newly revised GFX kits in. They called to ask if I wanted mine painted or not since the car is on its way.

This is JohnnyCamaro AKA John Cox from Chevy Accessories and I want to clarify something. There is NO recall on Ground Effects for a front splitter falling off issue. I was informed today that one culprit could be that dealers are using a petroleum based cleaning product which is affecting the tape. He is the new excerpt explaining on what to use:

Do not use petroleum based cleaning products. If a strong
cleaner is required, we recommend using 3M general purpose
Adhesive Cleaner (part number 08984) with a clean cloth to
remove any visible contaminates (road tar, etc.). It may take
the use of several cloths to obtain a clean surface. It is important
to replace the cloth when soiled or you will be smearing or
wiping contaminates back on the vehicle. After using the
solvent for cleaning, use an alcohol wipe to clean the tape land
area.

Sounds reasonable. Maybe this could have the problem for mine? I'm not sure. What would you suggest that I do to resolve this problem?

"We'll look into it"

So to what extent that means, I don't know. Hopefully they are sorting things out with GM and what is rumor and what is truth. I'll keep calling and bugging them though. I'm hoping this weekend when I meet some of the top guys in the Camaro program, that they can sort things out for me and help me get this problem resolved.
