For me its the insurance, fuel cost, price and overall upkeep. Plus, from Chevy's "Build your own" on the 2010 Camaro website they make it look like the Base model V6 has dual exhaust, which I agree with. However, I don't like the 18" rims. Too big in my opinion and will be the first thing to go in favor of some nice 17's that compliment the car... probably Crager SS if I can find them.
On another note, I'm tired of my underpowerd V6 Mustang. I like the car alot but I'm tired of not having enough power when trying to get on highways or 70mph scenic loops. Plus, I'm really sick of trying to pass people only to have them speed up and block me from getting by. I had a 2001 Mustang GT at one point and none of these were issues for me. With 305HP Camaro I don't think that'll be a problem for me again. I'm really liking the Aqua Blue colour and hoping that when my time comes to make a purchase that its still available. |

As for going down to a 17" wheel, just keep in mind that the sidewalls on your tires will need to be 5.83" high to maintain the factory tire diameter dimensions (28.66"). That's pretty much the same as what I run on my '04 Expedition. You are going to be giving up some of the great handling characteristics of the Camaro if you do that.

Then again, I might not even do it at all. Time and money will tell. |

Yeah and I can understand some 25" rims being "too big" but how the heck can 18" wheels be too big in this day and age? I think the 20's are as small as I'd want to go... they look perfect!

Yeah, for some people anything bigger than 17" is over-kill. 17" rims look nice, allow you to perfectly fit 13" brakes and let you fill the wheel wells up with more rubber, which IMO looks better. Its all taste oriented. I have a '67 Chevy C-10 and a '68 Mustang and 17" are what they roll on for those purposes and a couple others.

when 100 hp = $6600 and the economy sucks this bad. That V6 and its 304 horses will do just fine for me.

My lady did not need 400hp! She loves this car, I swear she is gona wash the paint off it before fall.
This is her car since I seem to make all the others cars not streetable. Everyone should have a 2000hp street car right!

The question should be 'why not'.
Why would you really need 400 horsepower? Why would you want to fill up with premium everytime? Why would you want to pay $5000 more. Why would you want to get less mileage per tank? |
