This is the same lady that said, with the "chip" in her car she has close to my horsepower. I don't get too bothered by her. It's almost entertainment.

Someone told me my car sounded like a truck once too.

It bothered me for a little bit... But then it didn't.

To the casual listener, one V8 sounds like another V8. Where I live there are many more V8 pickups than there are V8 cars, so maybe that's what's coloring her impression. Many of these trucks out-loud any nearby Camaro or Mustang.

The point is, a V8 sounds 'big.'

this is how a modern muscle car should sound like....

or meaner of course...

straight pipes = too poppy and truckish.. single chambers should do though.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Funny guy... straight pipes ARE the real exhaust... to each their own but I'll take the natural sound any day.

Did you have a cat-back system, or axle-back? If just using the axle-back, yeah, that would be too quiet for my taste, too.

IMHO, straight pipes have no "depth" to the sound. I'll take deep over loud any day. Again, just my opinion.
