I had an SRT-8 Charger and the brakes suck ass!!!!! You can push it as hard as you want one day and you have to change the brakes the next. Also due to the weight you dont get the full power of the 425 Horsepower Hemi which kinda sucks but im not gonna lie the car was great but could be wayyyy better so it takes the cake but the Camaro takes the Bakery.

Well I do think Chevy is going to go CHAPTER 11 so you may be pointing to closed plants also.
Lets hope Chevy and Chrysler both get there act together

Hey Folks!
New to the forum, and the proud owner of an 09 SRT8 6-speed Challenger. Not here to "hate" on anyone. Just wanted to say I hope you guys get your cars. GM is in as bad a condition as Chrysler and next in line for Bankruptcy. Might want to hope things go well for Chrysler since the path they beat will be walked by "Government Motors" too. We had dealers gouging and had to hunt for respectable dealerships to work with too. I'm glad we get a chance to see modern muscle cars on the road again. I could have waited to get a Camaro, but honestly, I just think the Challenger is drop-dead gorgeous. Price wasn't a concern, and neither was performance. I could have bought a slightly used Viper if it were just about numbers. And the fit and finish are top notch! Nice quality interior (yeah, some parts-bin robbing, but enough changes to keep it unique) and an ample back seat IF I decide to take four passengers.....hasn't happened yet (and probably won't anytime soon!). Not sure what some of the guys here are talking about - the SRT8 being a boat and handling poorly. The Camaro is only a couple of hundred pounds lighter, and a much smaller car. Besides, if weight was such a huge consideration, a lot of guys wouldn't (still) be married, right? Brakes suck? They're Brembo's, not MOPAR - probably the best brakes in the industry. I haven't had an ounce of problem with them. Took me a while to get used to how quick the car stops. My SRT8 handles very well, accelerates well enough to light 'em up through third, and chirp the tires shifting into 4th - at 102 mph. The Camaro is nice, and I'm glad to see it finally coming out. But the styling wasn't what I wanted. I don't think it looks as much like a '69 SS/RS as the Challenger looks like a '70 R/T. I have some diehard GM friends who said they prefer the way the Challenger looks over the new Camaro. It's just a matter of personal taste. Ford did a nice job with the Mustang, and I considered buying one. But they're everywhere, and I wanted something less common. Hoping Chrysler and GM get through the next few months - and you guys get your cars. If it's anything like what we experience, it'll take you an hour to drive a mile to get a loaf of bread for the wife and get back home...... there'll be a few people wanting to look at and talk about the car everywhere you go. There's no such thing as a "quick trip to the store" when you go in a modern American Muscle car. Enjoy your rides, Folks! Hope you get them soon! It kind of bothers me when people say GM needs to get its act together, since chevy was on top 2005-2007 just 1 1/2 yrs ago. They started hurting when the rest of america starting hurting.

In the short term they look better off, but sooner or later they will have to start paying off what they borrowed. I believe GM and Chrysler will come out stronger based on the concessions and debt reduction Chapter 11 affords. So don't be fooled by Ford's supposed strength. It's smoke and mirrors. I believe they are hoping to ride out the storm on the borrowed money while the media keeps painting how bad GM/Chrysler are and wind up as the last man standing. I don't think their gamble will work. But we'll see how this plays out over the next 12 to 18 months. |
