Most leather in today's cars is pigmented dyed. Which means it has the color applied to it like a paint. But leather conditioners and cleaners still work well on them.
If you want the real, deal you have to got to semi aniline or aniline dyed leather. |

Leather is fine. Just wish I had some lumbar support like my GMC Canyon pickup does. I am 6'3". Maybe thats why I need the lumbar support.

Think of sitting on a leather coach vs a cloth coach. Leather is a little firmer obviously but IMO feels better.
My biggest problem with cloth is that stuffy feeling. My roommate went from a 12 year old car with leather seats to a 4 year old car with cloth seats (and well maintained cloth at that), and he absolutely hates the cloth. He's considering having the entire interior re-done in leather! Go to leather, you won't regret it!

Well I got to sit in two 2SS's the other day on the lot. First one was a used 2010 with 10,700 miles and the second was a brand new 2012. Both felt about the same. The leather seats to me definitely feel harder and less comfortable than the cloth seats although nowhere near as uncomfortable as my friends Mustang GT (2006/rock hard) and co-workers 300C (2005/harder than rock hard, lol). I really like the two-tone red/black or inferno orange/black leather! Cloth is definitely more comfortable to me, but the two-tone leather looks so much better! I was surprised that my co-workers Chrysler 300c rode so much rougher and had such harder seats than my Camaro! And that thing is suppose to be a luxury car? My Camaro is so much more comfortable with a MUCH better ride!! I think I might of gotten a fluke! This car just rides TOO smooth and comfortable for a sporty car!
But if I was to order a brand new car from the factory, the two tone red/or inferno orange leather will be highly considered. Overall, the leather seats in the Camaro where more comfortable than some cars with leather I've recently been in, but the cloth is undeniably more comfortable. My best guess is that leather seats have harder seat foam to help keep the leather from wrinkling and cracking? |

Leather looks nicer, cloth feels nicer. It's as simple as that. Although some prefer the feel of leather more, but that's usually how it goes.

I have cloth seats and I have sat in many cars, even with cloth seats, I have to say they are the most comfortable I ever sat in. I also went to Tennesee and North Dakota from Michigan, still the best seat in the house!
