Ok dumb question I'm sure, but what is "drone?"

Like a bumble bee only louder and more annoying. Some exhausts will exhibit drone at certain RPM's. Typically right around cruising speed. It's like a loud buzz. I would say that all of them do it but some are more annoying than others. Also depends on your hearing. You might notice while my ears (59 yrs old) might not hear it.

I have the Solo cat-back installed by Solo->I liked the rumble, but the volume was only slightly increased.

I then had Solo HFC and Kooks LT installed, now its louder, and has that rumble you described. My kid even makes sounds before I start the car, imitating it.

I have the Solo on my '12 vert. Sounds great, louder but not too loud. Sounds like a classic muscle car and screams when WOT. Idle sounds awesome too. I have heard a few others and this one is my preference.

I had the Borla S-type catback and the drone was pretty bad on my automatic. I had the AFM (Automatic Fuel Management) turned off with a custom tune. That helped a little bit. When I wanted to add headers I knew that the sound would be amplified. American Racing Headers changed the entire system to their products and now I'm in love with the sound. Pretty tame at regular driving but it comes alive when you get on it. I do recommend their brace for underneath the car. It gives you room for any 3 inch X Pipe. Try to think ahead. Will you be adding headers and hi flow cats in the future? There's a lot of great systems out there. It's all personal preference.

I also wish I could figure out the exhaust dilema also, I hate the stock exhaust.

There is a member called WHODAT2SS here in Houston who is on the forum and has some clips of his new Solo performance exhaust with J pipes. Says he loves it and no drone. Check out the H Town Camaro Club forum as well if the video is not on Camaro 5. I'm having one installed on my L99 coupe this Tuesday.

I have the Solo system and it's drone free. I had mine installed in Mississauga by Zoro Muffler and the service was great. Love the look and especially the rumble of these pipes. The deceleration pop is an added bonus.

I installed Borla "S" on my '12 vert and the cabin drone was terrible....just couldn't get used to it. So I put the stock back on. I think I will go with Solo next as it really does seem to be the only real option (outside of the raspy Corsa) if you want a good sound with no drone.

NICE!!!! Not sure what I want yet. This is all new to me. My corvette was awesome all by itself. Now I have to figure out how to make this car sound and look better.
