It really was not a problem more of an oversight on GM's part but yes it has a power passenger seat now.

I was planning to buy a Mustang but hell now, camaro is the exact thing what I’ve been looking for. Well, right now, I’m at the stage of buying one, but I have some problems because of the taxes in my country.

Firstly, let me tell you that, in Turkey, we pay %130 tax for car over 2000cc engine. I know this is mad, but it is the truth. So, 2LT is around 110 k $ and 2SS is around 150k $ in here. So, it is not easy for one to choose directly the V8. Also, fuel prices are quite high in Turkey. It is around 2.5-3$ per liter. So, in Turkey, if you’re not extremely rich, fuel consumption is quite an important thing no matter your car is.

Well, I have this huge confusion about the MPG and LITER rates of 2SS. In the USA website of Chevrolet, it says 2SS has 16 and 24 mpg, which is 17lt and 11lt. However, in the Canadian website of the Chevrolet, it says the 2SS has 13.4 lt and 8.4lt. According to the Imperial mpg, 24mpg means 11.7 and 16mpg means 17.6lt. According to the US mpg, 24 mpg is 9.8lt and 16 mpg is 14lt. So, where did chevrolet.ca come up with the figures of 13 and 8 lt? Also, in the chevrolet.ca, it says the 2LT version has the figures of 11.8 and 7.9lt. So, the difference is only 1-2 liter, which is OK for me to choose 2SS. This will really effect my decision between 2LT and 2SS. I really want to have a V8 but I’m quite sure that I cannot afford 18Lt (let’s say it 20lt). Also, let alone the Usa and Canada, in European versions of Chevrolet’s website, it says 2SS has 10lt on highway and 20lt in city. God, I’m going to be mad!

If 2SS is really have 8.4lt on the highway, I’m planning to buy a used 2010/11 2SS which is around 90k $. If it really does have higher consumptions, I’ll go with a new 2012 2LT.

Note: (I have just noticed that in camaro5’s wiki page, it says SS engine has:
Fuel Economy: 16 city/25 highway (13.2 city/7.9 highway L/100km)
In which measurement system, 25mpg is equals to 7.9lt? I must have been missing something)

I do not use my car in city conditions to much. Maybe 6-7 km for daily use, but I will be using it for long distances (high way) like 600-700km once in a month. So, the fuel consumption on high way is crucial to me. I know that most of you do not appreciate AFM system but it will come quite handy to me a lot than yours since on the highway, I will not be looking for high powers (I’ll mostly make 130km/h speed).

So, could you please help me to figure out the exact fuel figures?
Different countries/regions use different fuel economy standards to come up with the ratings. In the United States, its the Enviromental Protection Agency. Canadian ratings are done according to the stardads set by Environment Canada (which are roughly equal to the US EPA standards in use 30 years ago). There are similar agencys doing similar things all around the world.

The fuel economy ratings in Turkey for the V8 manual appear to be 20.9L/100km city, 10.2L/100km highway, 14.1 combined. The C02 emissions are rated at 329 g/km. I got that off of Chevrolet.com.tr, you should be able to find the rest of the fuel economy numbers you are interested in there.

Also, as a little side note ... even though it rates the Camaro at 432 hp (or 405), it isn't any more powerful than the North American versions. Like fuel economy, its just a different rating system. I won't get into the details but essentially, there is about a 1.5% difference between the two of them

I crunched the numbers based on what my SS gets which is about 16 miles per gallon with mostly city driving. it translates to 6.8 kilometers per liter. Hope that helps.

If you have a taxes problem with the 2LT and SS , get the ZL1 and bam, no more problems there.

On part of the difference is that the Canadian measurement is done on a slower speed test cycle. the same care always has better economy in Canada because of the slower speed. I don't know the details but test is different.
