Just checking in, I was thinking we should start a list of who all is planning on attending Camaro5 Fest this year. I have been trying to figure out were a few of the Camarovans are heading through to try and plan a route, but being that there are so few of us that I know of making the trip I am not sure what will work out. So if you guys who are going will post with the day you are planning on leaving.

K1SSRSS - Leaving Wed arriving Thursday (Tenative)
danvillekidd - Leaving Monday arriving Wednesday

We are leaving Mon night after Shellie gets off of work to head to Dallas. We are joining the Texas group because they are arriving on Wed.

Im Jealous, those Texas guys are a lot of fun. I originally wanted to run over with them, but it looks like we will probably be leaving late Tuesday evening of early Wednesday morning and will catch the Central and Western group leaving St. Louis Thursday morning. If I can possibly squeeze an extra day off of work we may try to catch the TX group in Tennessee.

If anybody else is on the fence about going, I still have the extra room at the host hotel for Thu, Fri and Sat night.

I'm still waiting to order my 2013 2LS from Viva in El Paso

I'm still waiting to order my 2013 2LS from Viva in El Paso. My salesman there will call me as soon as he can order this car. He said he's waiting on pricing, or something like that. I told him to call me when he's ready to order the car.

GearheadSS posted pricing on 2013 camaros, I "THINK" he got from GM Global Connect. I'm HOPING my salesman gives me a price of $24,545 on my new car, when I meet with him to order it. That's the price GearheadsSS posted. GearheadSS is a dealer in Dallas. If my salesman at Viva gives a higher price, I guess I'll have to do more homework on this.I appreciate GearheadSS posting this pricing info.

I checked with Mission, Rudolph, and Bravo, and they all told me they would sell me this car at MSRP. Viva said they might be able to give a little off MSRP, althought they didn't say what the MSRP would be. I'm getting a black camaro. I'm also getting a TomTom to go with it. I'm going to pay to download a slutty voice, to go with my TomTom. Her name is Silena. You can listen to a sample of her TomTom voice here. Listen to the "Character Sample" and the "Navigation Sample." Maybe I'll nickname my new car, "Silena."

I would make sure to talk them into getting it under MSRP, they have room to work, just make them work for it. I would stay away from Bravo, no matter what kind of deal they made you, their service is horrible after the sale. Rudolph has been great as far as service goes and I did not even buy a vehicle from them.

Have you thought about the 2011's or are you set on a 2013, I know there are a lot of 2012's and a few left over 2011's the dealers are really trying to move right now. Might be a great deal out there.

One last thing I just found out the other day, apparently the V6's that come from the factory with 18'' wheels are goverened at 118mph due to the speed rating on the tires. I don't know if that matters to you or not, but either way, it may be a bargining tool when hageling with the dealer, since you can't overide the govenor with out a tune.

I'm kind of set on a 2013. I don't think the dealers would give me enough of a discount on the 2011's, or the 2012's, to interest me in buying one.

No, it doesn't matter to me that the V6's are governed at 118. I'm 58 years old. I don't want to drive my new 2LS over 30 MPH. I might damage something.

It was kind of strange when I did my price check, at all 4 dealers last Monday, July 9th. The sales girl at Bravo had me test drive a used 2012 vette with 1100 miles on it, that was selling for 50k. I told her what I did for a living. A 50k car isn't practical for someone in my income bracket. She insisted I test drive it, so I said okay. It was fun test driving the vette, but I don't buy 50k cars. She wasted her time, having me test drive that car.

A 38k camaro SS would be out of my price range. I may be looking at 28 or 29k out the door price, with just this 2LS. I can handle that. I told my co-workers at work what she did, and they all shook their heads, and asked, "Why is she having you test drive a 50k car"? I don't know if she was new to the business, or what. I went to Bravo to get a price on a 2LS, not a corvette. That's a different league car.
