Not saying that a tune is bad, I tuned my car before the warrenty was up, but I felt comfortable nothing was wrong with the car and knew going into it i was voiding it... that is a good looking car, if it had a sunroof I would be all over it... not really I love my car...

Its not so cut and dried as you say.
Personally I don't care about warranty on mods I do, but I guess some people might. I think most guys looking for a performance car wouldn't care.
Not true my friend, as soon as a dealer hooks up to this ECM they will instantly know the perimeters have been changed.
But hey, that's a chance you take.

The ECM keeps a log on each flash the car has and keeps a record of it a dealer can easily see if they hook it up to there system..

Dealer doesn't care about tuned cars. I was at the dealer today and the service writer told me they do warranty repairs on tuned camaros all day long.

You have to remember the dealer is on your side when it comes to warranty repairs, they get paid from GM to do the repairs. It's bad business to throw money out the door.

by me... if any warrantee work os being done to the Drivetrain.... GM wants Screenshot of the ECM before the dealer is Authorized to do any work on the drivetrain...so if u have a tune....your screwed.

True... and most don't have a clue what they are talking about. Just spouting off stuff they have read.

At least the thread is getting lots of bumps... LOL

The OP was totally honest and upfront. He could have just put the old tune back on and no one would have know the difference. Even the dealership would never question it.
