I believe AustinJames has a muffler delete on his car. I'm not too sure, but I think I read on here somewhere that he does. From what I know that makes the car HELLA loud. I wish I could do that to mine, but we are moving to TX next year and I won't pass inspection with something like that. See about PMing him or maybe he will see this.

Most recommend against it.

Will sound nice and throaty at start up and low rpms. But will likely drone badly at highway speeds, and will get very loud and annoyingly raspy at high rpms.

Tweaking a muffler delete by using things such as a magnaflow resonated X pipe (basicaly a muffler) and perforated, double walled tips seems to help a lot and can make for a decent sounding system.

Keep in mind, you have LT headers and the OP does not....which makes yours that much crazier.

JUST DO IT

at first when i did the straight pipes i said to myself "what did i do"

after 100 miles the exhaust piping really broke in. And now after 1k miles It SOUNDS BEAST.

People are shocked all the time when i tell them its not a v8.

just cruising down the streets or highway it sounds very close to a v8.

I hear that if u want to not have a raspy tinny sound, the recommendation is to use 3" pipe. That's what austinjames has and he says it sounds sick

You know I actually tried this for a second but the drone was overpowering and almost made me brain dead. This was even with the res xpipe installed but rear cats deleted. I just drove down the block from the exhaust shop and it was a bit louder than my mrt1.0s but the drone was retarded.

Honestly, If I could do it all over again, I would do MRT 2.0 with a y-pipe just before the mrt 2.0 and cutouts coming out the other end of the Y-pipe. I would also still have the magnaflow res xpipe in there. If I wasnt planning on ever thinking cutouts then I would just do mrt 1.0 like I have now.

I think the key to our Camaros is that Magnaflow res xpipe. It honestly does wonders to any combination.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about that. The stock system is 2.25" My entire exhaust is now 2.5" and I would think going much larger than that and it wouldn't sound good. The V8's system upgrade is usually 3" or somewherearound there.

Did the muffler shop use stainless or the aluminzed metal on the muffler delete?
Thought about the MRT 1 or SLP,they are basically a stainless muffler delete for $400+. Just wondering how the aluminized stuff shops put on will hold up?
