Glad it is working out for you ..... right now I hate GM and probably won't order another car from them again ..

Ok maybe hate is too strong of a word, but if I ever get this car, it will be my last GM car ...

I too spoke with my salesman from the other Classic store in TX (is there more than 2?) in Sugarland. He advised me that their order system is behind. Yesterday when I called about changing my color I was under the assumption that my order was not placed until Tuesday. He informed me that although it was already showing 2500 on Wednesday (he emailed me that confirmation) it's already at 3000 today!

Apparently the ordering system is lagging behind because he also just had 2 (or 3?) cars delivered today & yesterday, and 2 of them aren't even supposed to be there yet according to their system. So surprise surprise, apparently at least some of the orders are ripping through the steps faster than their system can keep up.

I really expected to come back today and hear about a bunch of new drivers. Suck!

Stopped by the lot today... the IBM (VIN #9697) was gone... they had a 2SS CGM with IOM interior parked in the back. Still had all the paint protection on the outside and plastic on the inside.

There were also signs in the windshield saying to not touch the car or let anyone sit in it, as well as to not remove paperwork, forms or anything else from inside the car. I thought that was cool - whoever is getting this car knows the value of original documentation, but also because their Rep knows the importance of doing what his Client asks... to the point of making signs and putting them in the windshield.

I didn't check my e-mail yesterday but I did talk to Eric today and I'm still sitting at 1100. He is supposed to be giving me an update on Monday.

I'm in DFW...Las Colinas to be specific. Wondering who the best dealer would be to pick up this beautiful machine

The responses will probably be a little biased since I am in this thread, but is Classic the best way to go? Who should I talk to?

The dealer that I have had my initial conversations with is Frank Parra Chevrolet off 183. Unfortunately the sales guy hasn't gotten back to me in a while. Has anyone had any contact with them, and how was the experience?

Can't speak for Frank Para, but I can tell you that I went with Classic for a couple of reasons. One, they are known for *not* gouging on new/hot car sales.. meaning, they sell for MSRP when a lot of dealers will try to markup the price. Two, they are the largest volume dealers of Vette's currently and were the largest volume dealer of Camaro's when they were last manufactured, so they have some respect/weight in the queue of dealers. Three, and this wasn't known at the time I ordered but counts now, they are not on the list of dealers targeted for closure.
