Year round car?

Hi everyone, plan on getting a camaro in April and my question is.... How does it handle in Ohio winters? I know a lot of people have camaros as 2nd cars and don't have to drive in winter, but I don't have that luxury. Thanks in advance!

Last winter you would have had no problems. A typical winter you can plan on having many days when the Camaro is not a good option or an option at all.

I drive mine year-round. Had it for the last 2 winters. Never had any issues. I will need new tires before this winter though if I want to keep saying that.

My Camaro was a daily driver the first year I had it so I used Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow winter tires, they were awesome. I'd suggest picking up a set. On a side note, my exhaust got here today anybody know of any good muffler shops in the West Chester/Fairfield/Sharonville area? There's one I know of but if anybody has one they trust let me know. Here's a pic, it's the CNT Catback:

Drew and I both decided we're going to turn off our AC next time we do this.

Nice meeting you Adam and seeing the all the others again. Sorry I had to bug out early. Hope Bue-Bayou's car is OK.

Drew had the hands down best sounding car running. Get those tires!
Yea I guess I can live without my A/C for a 1/4 mile. We need to do it again soon. That was the most fun I have had in a while.

Colerain Muffler or Cincy Speed can put that on for you. If it's a full bolt on kit with minimum welding, I can help you out if you want to make the hour and 20 min drive.

Does it require any welding? If not, I'd be glad to help you install it. It's not a difficult job to do on jack stands. Of course, my kids are keeping me hopping with fall soccer, volleyball, and summer basketball conditioning, so I have about zero free time. I might be free on the afternoon of Sunday the 29th lol.

Yeah it's a full bolt on system and came with all the clamps required, there isn't any need to weld anything. That would be awesome if somebody wanted to help me out, my problem is I don't have any tools or jack stands. I promise all the beer needed and pizza would be on me
If I don't get a good deal this Monday or Tuesday then I'll hit you guys up, Drew you're up in Columbus right? Gordy you seem closer haha.

You diva. I refuse to turn my air on unless it's GOD AWFUL hot. But I hate that loss of HP feeling you get when the air is on, so I suffer.

You might wanna go visit Gordy, parts have been known to have gone "missing" when Drew is involved with helping install your mods. I wouldn't know or anything... just what I've heard.

By the way I had a great time (except those last 2 runs). Heck I beat my previous best time. I'm going to dig into it tomorrow and find out what's wrong. I'll keep you posted.

Keep us posted-- hopefully it was nothing major... or is at least covered by warranty.

Damn that is quite a drive, plus it sounds like a clamp or two might go missing...

I appreciate the heads up I bet Drew just wants to steal a pipe or two from my cheap exhaust and bolt it up to his SS. +10 RWHP!!!!

Sorry I wasn't of much help, I just don't know anything about LS3's. The most I could've done was frown at the engine and throw out unhelpful comments like "Maybe it's the manifold". Hope it's nothing major and that it's covered under warranty.

I drove mine pretty much all winter and had no problems. I think they handle very well in winter actually especially if you have a manual and know what you're doing. It wasn't too bad of a winter though last year so you may need snow tires, but I did fine with the combination of my all seasons and LSD. Best of luck!
