There you go assuming things again without a clue... Maybe you should check out some of my tire threads and you will learn something, but then this is just your place of troll and you only know 3 threads (all GT500 related).

Great u made a tire thread so youre an expert on drag radials and the dragstrip. Bravo. Now how about you start a thread about youre trip to the strip and post some slips with various short times with various tires at all different pressures??? Oh wait that would require to to step away from the keyword, nevermind.
too funny.. how bout you post up that 2010 ss Camaro you drive...

Come on out to the Thread I just started and I'll show you first hand... but you would need to leave the GT500 threads for a sec

You've said all that before... Same old stuff... if you don't consider this a place for true gearheads then just carry on...

Why's everyone still arguing about the GT? It performed well, and it would do even better with a better driver. The ZL1 driver could probably use practice too, but I'm not here to rip on the drivers. I'm genuinely interested in the cars. The GT has lived up to the hype, but the ZL1 hasn't. What's the issue with these cars, and why isn't GM trying to figure out??

I'm not sure about that. There are quite a few modded and retuned ZL1's over 600hp and I haven't heard of any drivetrain issues yet. Most of those mods include stickier tires and no upgraded drivetrain parts. If there were issues with the drivetrains I'd expect to see some failures. Just my observation...

Never mind the tire issue . . .

I'd really like to know what that particular Shelby is running for rear LCAs (aka lower trailing arms) or at least their bushings. The geometry probably still is stock, but that big of a smoke show in the burnout box without any wheelhop is a waving red flag to anybody who has much understanding of the S197's rear suspension behavior. While I don't know either participant and don't know this to be true as absolute fact, I am more than a little bit suspicious. FWIW.

Good burnouts are easy without wheelhop - especially with water. So long as you have enough tire speed (ie...2nd gear burnout), it shouldn't be an issue.

Look very closely at 2:51. No hop on the launch either.

Within the late model Mustang world, aftermarket LCAs are one of the most common performance-oriented mods. Just sayin . . .

I'm with you on this one. I was very excited about the ZL1 and still feel that the basic foundation is there but overall these cars have been a letdown for me. I have only seen a couple run close to what I expected them to run. I have only seen a couple that have run better then my 03 Cobra did. Even my 2001 WS6 would have run with most of the ZL1s I have seen.

They are a beautiful car and I like everything about them I just wish they were faster. With almost 600 hp I would expect allot more then what we are seeing. They should be going close to 120 even with a so so driver.

I don't GAF what they run at the track!

As many of you know I own a 2013 GT500. Those are not drag radials those are factory tires and you can especially tell at the 1:51-1:53. That's an OEM Tread pattern and the side shots of the car clearly show it's an OEM tire.

For the record,

"Having been so close to a 9 second pass with our 10.002 last time at the track we knew we needed just a few more runs and a couple of minor adjustments and we would get what we were looking for.

If anyone has been following our build they know most of the mod list has been kept pretty quiet. However we have disclosed that the car does run a Nitrous Pro-Flow wet kit and it's been tuned by Lund Racing. Some additional information about the car is that it's full weight except for the front sway bar being removed and it's got 07 GT500 rear brakes. Other than that it's got everything else on it from the factory including the additional weight from the SVT Track Pack (Oil Cooler, Diff Cooler, Trans cooler pump).

We're running 100% stock suspension as well as the stock 3.31 gears. Stock rear end as well.

The reason for this is that we know the majority of our customers and 2013 GT500 owners aren't looking to hack up their cars. They aren't removing seats, building rear ends for them or running K-members with manual racks. They want to go fast but still have the comfort and convenience this car has when it's stock. So our goal is to show you guys what can be done with as little as possible without sacrificing driveability."

No wheel hop! Yes it has been problematic in the past for 2007-2012 GT500 owners with and without power upgrades. Ford did many different things with the 2013 regarding the suspension on a SVT Performance Pack and Track Pack car.

The GT500 owner in this match race could have used the built in Launch Control (two step) and Sport Mode Advanced Trac. I don't know, maybe he'll chime in. Maybe he just flat out drove the car and I think it has been noted the GT500 driver has experience drag racing so maybe give some props to the man. He's got skills, not mods.

Then there's Motor Trend which many here seem to give a lot of credence to their views........

http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2012/0...6-sec-126-mph/

This article was posted May 22 2012 and clearly states that the stock GT500 is capable of 11.6 @ 126 MPH.
