When I go to shows or cruise-ins I roll in with he cutouts open. When the old car guys hear that cam thumping away - they come over and want to talk about my car. Happens every time. I always make sure to return the respect by going over to their cars and talking about their special rides. I like it when there are all kinds of cars there ( even Mustangs
). Car people are car people. Everyone likes a big loud V8. It's all good.

He local cruise in here has a couple hundred cars of all types and ages. The only snoot ones seem to be the t-bucket and corvette crowd. Other than that, everyone accepts everyone else. Not too many Camaros there. It would be great if the Camaros owners had clubs as active as the Mustang ones. When I had my Mustangs, we had at least four shows a year, with all classes necessary to give everyone a fair shot at a trophy. The Camaros owners just don't seem that interested. Too bad. |

I posted a similiar post a while back because I experienced the same thing. It's happened a total of 3 times where I felt totally unwelcome. I even had one dude that proceeded to tell me everything that was wrong with my 2010 Camaro compared to the 1969 Camaro, and he never owned either.
I have stopped going to most local shows, especially if I pull in and see a lot of older cars. The older cars are usually owned by older guys and rarely do they even give you the time of day. Not one of the old guys I've come across welcomed me in any way, actually it was quite the opposite, it was like I was a leper. To me it's not worth the aggravation so I either won't go, or I will simply be a spectator and park my car away from the show cars. Russ |

On to the topic, I've taken my 2010 to cruise ins and have been welcome. But I only go to local shows where I'm known and sometimes drive my 67 instead. |

I drove past a guy in a 34 Chev today. He seemed more than happy to give me a little salute of acknowledgement. I can see not a lot of people wanting someone in a newer car, than has had, or doesn't need the same level of attention. Some guys feel more of a connection because of the work they've put into their cars.
