Manual Transmission Driving Schools

Hi all,

I am trying to find a driving school that provides training on manual transmissions. I am trying to teach my wife how to drive our camaro, with some results but I can't stand the extra wear and tear it is causing. I have called around to about 30 different schools in South East Mass and all of RI with no luck.

I thought I would ask around here to see if anyone knows anything. I am sure there are other people out there in the same boat as myself and this might be a good thread to get started on for other people to benefit from as well.

I have tried calling every car rental place around me, no one here rents a manual, not even higher end sports cars.

Find a car at a dealership that is standard and take it on a test drive.
Some dealerships will toss you the keys and won't go with you.. you need to locate one of those dealerships.

Then turn her loose with the trail car in a parking lot.

Not a bad suggestion, I will consider doing that. I don't know if the constant badgering from the dealer after the fact is worth it though, although I suppose I could give them a fake number lol!

Now that might be a good option! Still I think finding even a box truck with a manual will be difficult.

Actually, most of the larger trucks at Ryder, u-haul etc. are standard trans vehicles.

Bring her on holiday to Ireland and let her drive you around the bars, she will get more than enough practice with a manual ten!

Pretend like your interested in a manual and would like to test one out. Tell them your wife is new to the manual and try will try to teach her just to sell the car.
