So frustrated with my dealer...

Time to vent, my apologies....

I bought the ZL1 from unnamed dealer at the moment back on 7/2/12, got it home to throw some wax on here and found scratches/gouges on the dash. Called them up (they are 45 mins away from me) and told them about it. Took it in and they said they could "fix it" from a guy that is good with vinyl. I told them no, I want a new dash and they agreed they would order it in before I drop off.

Fast forward a few days, drop the car off on a Saturday morning because the guy who "fixes" vinyl comes in way early on Monday morning. Monday afternoon comes and they decide it isn't fixed. So I tell them to replace dash but alas...they didn't order it in. Waited 3 days in the shop for the dash to arrive. GM says it will take 2.5 hours for replacement (from the sales managers mouth) and it took them Friday, Monday, and most of the day Tuesday (today) to install it. They had the car a total of 10 days in the shop.

I get the car home and find the door panel on drivers door (painted plastic) is scratched/gouged and the kicker that I find on the passenger side quarter panel edge (where the door meets the quarter near the strike plate) has a gouge/scratch in the paint that they "touched" up with paint but failed to mention this to me on pick up.

Needless to say, I am pretty irate that my ZL1 has more damage coming out of the dealer than when I dropped it off. I know every square inch on the car as I have detailed/washed/waxed it a few times since delivery.

I am so irate with this dealer and if they don't do anything, I will name them as "a beware of their service department"

If you were local I woulda guessed Ferman Chevrolet cause thats how they treated me basically lol. Sucks man. Call and tell em it will be fixed right this time and if it isn't stick it to em.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt to see what they will do to fix it.

To do it properly, they will have to paint the quarter and the door to blend it in properly. Such a pain in the ass.

What makes it more obvious is that the tech used touch up paint that doesn't even match the red at all. This is what caught my eye at first

With the high level of expertise they have displayed so far i'm not sure I would want the same dealer repainting a large part of my car. Good luck.

I agree, but they will have to look at it and I will take it to a shop that I have trusted for years

When is GM going to realize that anyone who actually cares about their car is completely terrified to bring it to a dealer and let them touch it for any reason? Maybe when(if) they ever admit they have a serious problem with the way dealer staff treat customer's cars, then they can start to figure out how to prevent stuff like this from happening over and over and then over about 100x more. And this is only one of a hundred examples on this site alone, think about how many more we don't even hear about. I know GM monitors this site and they read all these horror stories, so how about holding someone accountable for a change and move away from the "head in the sand" management technique and get a little proactive instead of being only reactive...(barely)

This is bogus. They need to replace the door panel and paint the quarter panel. You obviously didn't bring it in with this damage. The two times I've had mine at the dealer they've added two chips in paint on the top of my passenger door handle (4 chips total) Nothing as serious as yours, but still irritating.
