makes me a little mad that people can just find one at a dealer sitting there and then us pre order guys who put deposits down are still having to wait weeks/months for there's even though we ordered the first day we could.

Here I was surfing Camaro5, and Joe M. from Classic Chevrolet here in the Houston area makes a post, saying he has a cyber gray SS in stock. It was an early pre-order, but the buyer backed out. This dealership was only 10 minutes away from me, and the car was nearly identical to what I ordered. I ordered mine with silver stripes and the dark RS wheels. This one had black stripes and polished wheels, the rest was the same. 2SS/RS, manual 6-spd, black leather, no sunroof. Perfect! So, I hopped in the car within minutes of seeing the post, and went to meet Joe and see the car. Top notch service, everyone at Classic was very friendly. I paid MSRP for the car, which was $36K and some change. I slapped down my trusty GM card and knocked another $1K off the price tag. The Camaro was fresh off the transport truck, still wrapped in the plastic and paint protection sheets. I brought my 9-yr old son with me to experience the thrill of buying a new car. He was very excited to see a "Bumblebee", even if it wasn't yellow.

Had a nice 60 mile commute back home in the evening. These cars get a lot of attention! Just about every car that we came across gave the thumbs up or waved. A few even snapped pics while they drove, albeit dangerous to do so. What a fun evening, and a great Friday this turned out to be. Here I was, expecting to wait at least another month, worrying about GM going bankrupt. Then this car comes out of nowhere, even though I've been searching for the last 2 months to find one sooner.

Here are some initial pics, but I'll do a nice shoot over the weekend.

Congrats!!

Thanks so much for taking pics in that type of lighting. That is exactly what I am looking for to see a different view of the flat black stripes. Others were in bright light or the sun. I am now sold on the flat black stripes for my CGM!

Very cool! I love it

I'd hate to say it, but I think your driver-side front stripe is messed up. Maybe it's just me. Might want to get that fixed? Where the pinstripe gets closest to the front of the car, the center vinyl looks a little curved.

Glad to hear you ended up with that one.

I stopped by Classic on Friday afternoon and Mark took me out to the PDI area to take a look at your car so I could see CGM on a Camaro. Looks a lot nicer with the stripes and without the shipping dust/grime all over it. I guess they hadn't quite gotten around to washing it off yet when I saw it.

Why does it make you mad? I was also a pre-order guy, but I also can't stand waiting around so I've been shopping for a 'right-now' replacement for my order since these cars hit the street. Anyone could have responded to the ad that was posted on this site, I just put the money up first.

As for the hood stripe, they messed the driver's side one up during installation. It will be replaced when a new one arrives. Pesky vinyl crap!

I like how you can see the driveway in the reflection. This is even a bit better than the 80's Mazda RX7 metallic grey. I had an 82 GSL with it but was not as reflective and lacked the blue tint.

What camera?

Wow nice find! I'm so surprised someone in Houston sold it for MSRP! Allen Samuels wanted $10k over on my order so I backed out. I'm still waiting on mine that I ordered elsewhere outside of Houston.
