I would like to think that as time moves forward so does technology. I would hope that the C7 is better than the C6 Vette and the next Camaro being better than the current Camaro. Right now the ZL1 is as quick as the base/GS Vette but I believe it has a better ride than the Vette.

Sorry to get off topic but are the engines the same for the base Vette and a GS?

Yes, but the GS has a higher numeric rear end ratio. On the auto, I think it's 2.73 for the GS and 2.52 on the base C6.

Test one on the Interstate or straight away and see. Maybe you have a friend with you who can video it and post it on Youtube. Win or lose. IT's always cool.

HP wise but the Grand sport has a dry sump system like the Z06. It is geared different like the Z51 was as well.

The ZL1 is better than a base C6 in every category that I can think of. C7 base who knows how much better than C6?
What I really want to know is how good will the new Z06 and ZR1 be? And what's it going to look like.

Ya I want to see real pics, lol. We've all seen renders and prototypes / concepts that look way different than when the car is finished.

I have heard the lowest recorded stock quarter miles are lower on the base Corvette but I would give that time. More Camaros better conditions more break ins. As for the track and road racing I am not sure. So far the opinion seems fairly split. Right now I am pretty much gonna wait til January until I put down a deposit and order either a 14 ZL1 or a C7 Vert depending on which one is the better performer after that Ill put around 15 Twenty K in it and keep it for awhile. I love the Camaro but it would be replaced within a year and a half by a Gen 6 where as the C7 would be an eye catcher for a good 3 4 years after I invest in modding it. Both cars have their advantages but I may just keep the SS winter drive it and get the Vert |
