So I just got this email today, I thought the 3 dealers in my area were selling at MSRP, Im getting a bit worried now.

My dealer says they are not marking up pre-orders... but the ones they ordered for themselves are a little different.

Here in the bay area a couple dealers told me they had 2SS's for 10k mark up, a month later and they're still on craigslist, posting multiple adds a day, that's what I like to see

I love how the name of the mark-up varies between dealerships, as if they're trying to justify such extortion. They should just call it "Greedy Douchebag Adjustment - $5,000"

Our local dealer calls it "Market adjustment". They have a 1LT with $3000 "Market Adjustment" that has been sitting in the showroom for 2 1/2 weeks. I told my salesman that I will not pay $3000 over MSRP when my 2SS/RS comes in!! The longer that 1LT sits the better chance I'll get mine for MSRP, the way I see it.

Im hoping the same things happens to that one, hopefully no one in my town will be stupid enough to buy the car for that much mark up.

But we do have some stupid people over here, I know at least 3 that paid 10k over msrp when the GT500 was first realeased.

More than anything I hope it doesnt encourage my dealer to try and do a market adjustment on the cars they get.

While I do agree with you I think the V6 is just not as appealing as the V8. So I dont think the same rules apply, but I hope Im wrong on this one.
