Thanks, that's what I would expect...
Here is a quick idle clip. Ported stock manifolds, SOLO HFC, and SOLO MachX. The majority of the sound is a result of the HFCs. I showed someone the video earlier yesterday and then later gave them a ride to the airport. He said the video doesn't do it justice, but other than not being as loud as in person I think it's fairly close.

Yeah, that's the only thing...the Solo is really not loud unless you get on the throttle, which I suppose could be considered a good thing. Maybe it is due to their catback. I have long tubes with HF cats and the mach XL, and I wish it had some more rumble at idle. Under heavy throttle though, now that's a different story.

Yep. I have been waffling back and forth trying to decide whether to finish out the muffler delete and res x-pipe install. The only reason I'm going to go ahead and do it is to increase the volume a bit at lower RPMs.

Also.. did you get any blatting (for lack of a better made-up word) over about 4k with your Solos? I've had that sound under load since I put them in and have never been able to decide if it's an exhaust leak, or if it's supposed to sound that way... like maybe a little rasp sound echoing off of houses/fences. I only seem to hear it on the passenger side, which makes me think it's a leak somewhere.

What bits and pieces do I need directly from Solo if I buy a set of used HF cats?

How many hours for professional install?

I don't remember hearing any blatting. At 4K and over, it just roared It could just be the sound echoing?

Here's the install guide:

http://solo-performance.com/installa...maro-converter

If I recall, I think they came with gaskets and some nuts, bolts and washers. Also, there's the O2 extenders that screw onto the pipes. It's really a DIY install if you can put the car on jacks or ramps. It took me several hours, but I'd imagine a pro shop could do it pretty fast. It was a lot easier than installing headers. One of the hardest parts was breaking loose the cat/manifold bolts!

It could be, but i think you would have noticed it if it were there. I probably still have a leak at my passenger side manifold gasket.

I love the sound of my Solo high flows. I did have a leak though and thought it was a gasket at first, but under closer inspection I noticed that my driver side cat blew out and you could see it through the metal mesh material. The exhaust leak even turned it a slight copperish color. Just something you might check. Solo shipped me another next day and I returned the bad one after the install. Great customer service.

Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely check that when i have them off to install the replacement gaskets and hardware that they sent me.

I'm assuming you heard a similar sound? Similar to reflecting rasp, but kinda wrong sounding at the same time, and only under load at high rpm?

I currently have the Solo Mach, great craftsmanship fit/finish, however I was disappointed in the final sound produced. From listening to their videos I was excepting more, will the HFC livin' the exhaust note a bit more? Also I see people saying they ended up going LT, does this make eliminate the need of HFC's? I intend on getting headers down the road with other power adders, but I'd be pissed if I ended up having to scrap / sell etc... my HFC's ..
