We have a new car loan thru Navy Federal Credit Union for 1.79% and mortgage of 3.25% with preapproval anytime over the phone within 30 minutes. We also belong to USAA and I encourage anyone to join a credit union if possible, a lot of times you qualify if your parents or relatives are a member or have served.

You got a 2010 with 4K miles for 30K? Man that is steal compared to what I am seeing them listed for. How much did you talk them down?

I wouldn't ever walk into a dealership without having my own financing (credit union, private bank, etc) or knowing exactly what I qualify for. The dealer's bottom line is to make a profit...don't ever believe what they're doing is in your financial best interest. It's in their best interest.

Lol no offense, but I wouldn't consider a 25% interest rate 'approved'.

Hell, I would personally finance you the car if you agreed to a 25% rate on my loan.

Considering I could have signed papers and drove it to the house I would call it approved. In less than a year, my credit score fell from 784 to 4xx, now I have improved it 20-30 points in the past couple months to a 455. Im happy that financing is available for me if I have no other option because I simply dont have the money to pull out of pocket to buy the Vehicle of my choice. Im gradually improveing my credit, Im working with a few creditors right now to remove several charge offs from my credit report which will help tremendously. spring/summer next year, If I must eat a 25% rate I will, but I will aslo have a big enough downpayment to keep my payments in the area that I am comfortable with. Il refinance after a while so my rate goes down. But im aiming for a 15% or less rate by spring next year.

If you continue to improve your credit score and say get it to 550-650 I would not accept anything over 7%-8% considering the rates stay the same as today. Look at the 30 year Mortgage rate for an idea on the rates to expect. This week you could get (with good credit, above 750) a 30 year mortgage for 3.9%. Just my opinion only. I am not in finace just personal experience. Maybe someone can set it right if I am wrong but that sounds reasonable to me. Of course the Banks want 20%-30% if they can find suckers to pay it.

You think that is bad, borrow 5k from Western Sky (A native American owned loan company), they charge 116% interest for a 7 year loan! 41k total at the end of term! Talk about revenge..........

Wow, never heard of Western Sky. Looks like they can't loan in Ca. True loan sharks, look at these rates!
