I was refering to the GT-500 costing more than the ZL-1, If the 5.0 guy wants to say how great the 500 that is fine. but we should not compair a car with slicks against a car with street tires. it's like compairing the ZL1 to a 5.0 both completly stock, not a fair fight. So if it's perfactly ok to have DR, on the gt-500 vs a street tire ZL-1 why is it not ok to have DR on a ZL-1 vs a 5.0????? see what I am saying???? he said let me get a tune and some DR... How is this ok if this is a Stock for stock tread???? I never clamed the ZL-1 would beat a GT-500 with out mods.. infact I highly dought it would... I simply stated the times would have been closet had the Z used DR as well..... I also said the track gt-500 package cost 5 grand more over the base price of the gt.. according ,to folks on here, so being that is now a factory moded car, would it not be fair to say 5 grand for a Z makes it just as fast in every way as a GT-500????????? or are we onsided on this as well

Put 5k in a Mazda Miata and it will smoke both these cars and it'll still be. $20k cheaper.

OPTION HAHAHAHH.. WAIT HAHAHAH.. DR, was not complaining just stating a FACT. both cars should have used DR. If ya look the ZL1 runs a 11.90 vs a 11.60 for a 500.. there are videos out there of a high 11 hero run out of a ZL1.

Even if your statement was true I appreciate and would love to own many cars and they all have strengths and weaknesses - every one. Owning a particular car does not make me blind to this fact. I could list the many reasons you are wrong but clearly you are just trolling. See if someone else will take the bait or move along

He said a decent driver. Not someone who nailed every shift perfectly and basically didn't spin off the line with TC off. Notice they didn't give the mph even he claims a high 11 second pass? It's clear this guy is a great driver. Good video though and decent rebuttal. I will agree the car is a low to mid 12 second car in the hands of most. Great drivers will get into the 11's stock with better air and no TC on.

I know you weren't aiming that at me, but anyway . . . these are my thoughts on the matter, completely separate from any of the cars mentioned here . . . or available for purchase anywhere, for that matter.
Agreed in part. There is something in common. Ultimately it comes down to driver confidence and experience. For most of us, we won't drive a car above the maximum point at which we feel comfortable, even if this is leaving quite a bit on the table. But we can drive a car with similar or even less ultimate performance potential "harder" in absolute terms if it's easier to drive it that hard. You could think of one car as having "peaky" behavior that requires you to constantly be on your best game, and the other as having a wider and flatter band around its maximum performance that lets you be a little 'off' without turning and biting. But I can live very well without any of the electronic "assistances" that would get between me and the tire contact patches, and I am even including ABS here. The F1 situation is a bit of a straw man, since much of the tech at that level is aimed at eeking out tenths, hundredths, or thousandths of a second at a time in huge-budget top-level wheel-to-wheel competition. On the street and at least up to open-track lapping/HPDE, I'm suggesting that avoiding any of the intentional nonlinearities that these systems introduce is better for the driver in terms of his development.
