Can this be installed by the owner or does a certified installer have to do it?

I wouldn't try this unless you're well experienced in working with automotive A/C systems. That and you'll also need an A/C vacuum and freon recovery system to drain and collect the freon then to put it back it while adding a little more.

ITZ really something I'd like to have....... very much. But not if it costs me factory warranty. Maybe later if it won't work out.

What are the negatives (if any) to installing this system if your ZL1 is a daily driver? Also do you know any good installers in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA? |

Mine is a daily driver. I have no track time or dyno numbers but the gauge tells all. The car retards spark at 112 degrees and i saw myself 125 degrees w chiller off. It makes the car feel like im driving on a cool fall morning everyday even in the florida heat.

And a test from a few weeks back: On the dyno after 3 runs there was zero loss from heat soak, say day 3 runs w/o the chiller and lost 25rwhp. I also ran at the track last week and 1st pass 95* out was chiller off and going through the Maggie Heat Exchanger IATs started at 105* and ended at 160* run was 11.70 @ 118mph, next pass turned on chiller for 5 minutes and cooled it down still 95* out IATs started at 64* and ended at 115* and the run was 11.25 @ 124mph. So the chiller did its job and kept IATs down and the car pulled no timing and I was able to make my fastest pass yet in the middle of summer no less. 6 mph is a big jump and I lifted because it was a bracket race so should have been 126+mph. This WILL void the AC system part of the warranty, but as your allowing everything involved with the super charger will be stressed less from the cooler temps as heat is the enemy for all components. |

Oh, the supercharger connection (vendor here) does installs in CA. Contact Jessika or Brian.

This does not alter the function of the HVAC system...all will still work as it did stock. This is similar to the load a rear AC would put on with a SUV or van system. |

I watched them turn the A/C on inside the cabin, so the question is can the chiller be run independently from the cabin a/c?
I am guessing the you control the cabin by adjusting the temperature inside the cabin and the chiller remains on for the inter cooler??

You could hide that gauge inside the mirror:
