Oh dear...my dealer is closing!

My dealer (Huntington Chevy in Huntington Station, NY) just called me and said they will be closing. He said he will be trying his hardest to find me a new dealer where I can pick up my car and so that they do not change the price or make me lose my deposit.

I really hope I don't lose my car. :(

Oh wow. I work about 10 min. Hope this doesn't screw up your order. What status are you up to?

Contact them to make sure you car gets transferred to another NYC dealer. Also make them honor the MSRP price your got from the dealer that is closing.

I know someone's car got sent to an entirely different state when their dealer closed.

The original dealership should give you the information, my car had to be transferred because of closing, but I had to go the long way around to get it moved, basically had to write the CEO, but it got resolved.

My dealer told me he was already making sure the car would be transferred to a local dealer and that they'd still honor my deposit and MSRP.

I didn't want to post the info about Huntington but since it's out, it is now confirmed. At this time, the District Sales Manager still isn't sure of the procedure becuase the units must be distributed fairly. They don't know if the customer has a say in where or what happens to the original deposit.

Ant, if you want to stop by here and talk about it, I will do what I can if you want us to deliver the car for you. Did you get your credit approval squared away and di you get rid of the Hyundai?

Call me at 516 785-4100 ask for Al Dobbs

I sent you a PM, but maybe I'll give you a call later on if I don't hear from you.

Yeah, I guess. The manager at the dealership said he'd call me in a week to update me, I wonder if I'll ever hear from him again.

Some dealerships will have some time, but others are in financial trouble and won't make it to the end.
