GM will NOT, I repeat, NOT go bankrupt. They have already said that it is NOT an option. This should not influence your decision to buy a GM vehicle at all. In fact, your purchase will help them generate some much-needed cash.

BANKRUPTCY IS NOT THE SAME AS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.
it amazes me how many people do not understand this.

GM is not as bad off as its stock would indicate, market analysts predicted that next year would be a PROFITABLE year for GM, there is no way they go under with them being so close to that goal....

I'd wait for the Dow to hit it's predicted low of about 7700, then that would be a great time to buy. Definitely look at long term investments right now, there are some real bargans just watch out for anything that could go tits up.
