Plasti dip bowties!

Hey guys! I have heard all the stuff about Plasti dip and decided to try it myself. I picked a can up at Lowes and decided to plasti dip my bowties black. I wanted black bowties and thought this would be a good way to do it and make sure I really like it since this can be reversed. What do you guys think?

It looks good! I think I'm going to do that too. Was it difficult?

Looks good, I love plasti dip! I used it on my tail light bezels to and it looks great. It has been on there over a year now and still looks great.

Really easy, just gotta take the time to mask it off nicely...then just spray it on (I used 3 coats for mine)

Not at all. I just taped the whole bowtie off then took a razor blade and cut around the bowtie between the chrome edge and the gold emblem, then took the tape off the gold portion to be painted. Then made sure everything was covered well to avoid over spray and sprayed about 3 coats on about 10 min apart from each other. Just run a razor around the edge again after it dries or the tape may try and pull the edges up a little. Really easy application though and if you mess it up its really easy to remove and do over.

I'd like to do the SS logos but afraid it's too small an area to do right.

Yeah, on my front I didn't use a razor and it did pull up a little on one edge. I used a razor on the back as you describe and it looks PERFECT..

I was going to get Vinyl for my bowties, but I like the idea of painting them myself. I will be using orange plasti dip when I do them. Thanks for the post!

Pop the trunk and there is a black cover over the bezels with 1-2 pins holding it down. Remove the pins and take the cover off. Once you do that I just took a screw driver and CAREFULLY poped the bezels out.
