Central Florida Cruise for a Cause
Hello everyone,
We are hosting a cruise and show for cars and motorcycles benefiting the Florida Hospital Diabetes Institute. It would be great to see the Camaro's well represented. It's going to be a great time at the beautiful Wekiva Island in Longwood, FL which is just north west of Orlando. Live music plus DJ, Food, Car Show, and a lot of giveaways. The event is on October 27th so the weather should be fantastic. We look forward to seeing you there. Details with online registration are at http://www.energyair.com/cruiseforacause Check out our flyer designed by Camaro5 forum member xVengeancex28. ![]() If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me a PM. Best Regards, Rob |

This would be a fantastic event between now and the next Sunshine State Camaro Rally. It's going to be a great day for a great cause.
There's a nice outdoor bar and you'll have plenty of time to enjoy a beer and hangout before the drive home. Signed the food vendor, Keller's BBQ, on today (included in registration). Iron Dave Adams, formerly of WHTQ 96.5, will be the emcee and play an acoustic set with Diablo Canyon Guitarist, Kevin Hanley. Brian Scott, currently with WMMO 98.9, will DJ music around the live entertainment. I'll continue to update here as it happens. Rob |

We're excited about the venue. Wekiva Island is a great place to be and you'll have access to it all day. It's right on the beautiful Wekiva River. Plaques for the car and bike show were received today. Also received more door prizes and raffle items. Everything is coming together really quick this year and it will be here before you know it. Pre-register for a chance to win 4 - Seaworld / Aquatica tickets that are good for 14 consecutive days. http://www.energyair.com/cruiseforacause Rob |

My wife and I met a couple people at Wekiva Island to review and plan the parking and other logistics. We had 2 beers, a soda, and a bottled water for $9.00. 9 beers on tap and 20 others available in cans and bottles.
Some things to do while your at the event: Canoeing, Kayaking, Swimming in the river, volleyball, corn hole, or just hang out and chill. I hope you guys can make it out. Rob |

Ok...so I reviewed the website and registration form and have a couple of questions. We don't need to go on the "cruise" part if we pick up our registration packets early? We can just arrive at Wekiva Island by 11:30 for the show, food, etc? Will there be judging/classes for the show?

You can go directly to Wekiva Island and get your packets there, meet at the starting location and pickup your packet, OR you can pick them up early if you would like. We were just trying to offer as many options as we could to make it as convenient as possible for everyone. The cruise is optional and not required. The cruise will be about an hour long loop from the start location to ending location but they are really only about 15 minutes apart. The current categories for the car show are: Best Interior Best Paint Best Engine Bay Best of Show There are separate categories for motorcycles. At this time, there are no classes but that may change based on the indication of how many and what groups of cars are going to be attending. We can always get more plaques. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks, Rob |
