Yeah, that does look pretty far off and I agree that, along with the poor tension, caused my belt annhilation.
I did make sure there was nothing behind the bolt going to the head. That little tab did get behind the stud one time and was caught before all was tightened up.

Oh btw, that photo that shows the stripped belt wrapped around the tensioner. Well, while it was flapping around, it grabbed the MAF wiring harness and stripped the wires bare. Nice, huh?

Could have been worse.

Not much though. Easy fixes.

The tensioner is made pretty damn precise. Mine rides right on the very edge of the tensioner pulley. Almost uncomfortably.

As soon as I find the what size belt I need, I'll make the neccesary repairs and finish my datalogging. Any idea what belt you have?

I initially tried to do it like PQ video for adjust the tension, I used a 1/2" drove in the square and pushed towards drivers side but it moved very little. Nothing noticeable. How much slack should I be greeting, isn't there a little stopper on tensioner to get it going to far?

SS, the problem I'm running into is that pretty painted, ported TB, there's hardly any room to leverage off of something solid there and still be square up on pulley. Maybe I'm not loosening the idler bolt enough like SS says, I just don't want to make it worse. What happens if I drive normally with that set up, any thing?

I'll let you know when I get home. I might have needed it to be a tad longer. But it is working. Just might want more belt wrap.

I have the package. Let me go check real quick. Might say on the belt. I'll be here at the office alone till late late late. LOL

PQ, how do you loosen the tension on tensioner? 1/2" drive in square hole and crank towards drivers side?

Not trying to sound like a know it all but every tensioner I have ever done has required me to release tension on the tensioner AND pry or pull on the idler. If your tensioner has any tension on it you'll be perfectly fine for normal driving.

Yes, the tensioner has a stopper to not go too far. I released the tensioner all the way to that stopper and pulled the idler to the belt. You have to release tension to get it tight.

The tensioner also has a tab to stop it in the loosest spot. You can see the two stoppers from the side.

I didn't get the washers with my tensioner so you may have saw that mine had none on front and assumed they were on back.

Kronix, notice the distance the tensioner moves. And this isn't even half way. Release the idler pulley and have someone hold the tensioner at full open and pry the idler as far as you can and tighten it and then have your helper release the tensioner.

Yes, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The tensioner is very tight going to drivers side. Definitely not causing slack

Can you post up a photo of your setup? It might be maxed out against the stop.
