OP In a related question (since I have DMH cutouts with about 4k miles on them and they are very similar to QTPs) - do you run with them open most of the time? I ask because there is a lot of carbon build up on the blade. I have no carbon build up at this point but am wondering about over time what might happen. Is your's tuned or still running a stock tune?

My QTPs have lots of carbon on the inside of the butterfly valve. They were put on the day after I bought my car.

10,000 miles on my RaceReady cutouts.... clean as a whistle To OP... they are bolt on in line cutouts, no way they can come off.... and lifetime warranty. Good luck.

i am lowered, and i have never bottomed out. but you could say i rarely hit speed bumps. the only one i do hit is not to big. but will have to keep this in mind. really do not want to damage my cutouts.

How often do you look on the inside. Mine aren't as black as the ones the OP posted, but they are not clean as a whistle. It's an exhaust pipe, so they can't be perfectly clean, unless you're 10,000 miles are down hill with the engine off, or you clean them.

I open them 2-3 times a week.... maybe for a few minutes. Butterfly is clean.... nowhere near the buildup in these pics. Mine are where the cats used to be, so maybe that has something to do with it I can run with them open too much, with the cam and LT's its insane loud. Like running open headers loud

Yeah, I guess there's nothing especially wrong with the build up and you could just clean it off if you wanted. Just curious I guess as I didn't expect to see that much. What struck me as the most odd was the amount of carbon on the blade in the closed position. That's why I asked if the OP ran with his open all the time.

I love them too.... Are yours right where the cats used to be? I have heard several cars with them, but mine is noticeably louder. Maybe cuz mine aren't low profile? They are full 3" cutouts. Might be louder cuz they are right under the driver seat
