I can say that JohnnyCamaro isn't 100% right. They might not have an official recall on the GFX package, but only because it isn't a safety issue. But GM did completely redesign the front nose piece. I started the thread. and have also seen the changes they made to the front piece. The new one has more clips and rivets across the front. Where they originally had only 2 clips, one on each corner, and 3M tape across the front.
The dealers didn't just install them wrong. The one that JohnnyCamaro has seen is probably the updated version, where the ones having problems are early versions.

Your car is beautiful. However I'm not surprised that GM is going out of business. How can any manufacturer sell you a car with unpainted ground effects? What is up with that? It looks so tacked on and gay. I ordered mine with GFX as well but I assumed it would be painted, but when I finalized my order I was quite surprised that they told me it will come unpainted on the car. How unfinished is that! Its a great car coming from a not so organized and great company. Very disappointing.

So he is accurate in what he said. Right?

I think its a matter of opinion like on Freds car here I love how the GFX look they match the interior color so well and just make the car flow and look great! But I also had the pleasure of seeing the GFX on a black SS which the owner had them painted to match the body color and I think that looks amazing as well! On some colors I think the unpainted GFX look great and on other cars I think the GFX needs to be painted, all a matter of opinion here. But these pictures of Freds car (even though how great and amazing they are) still do not do this car justice, in person this car is flawless and every color and attention to detail looks amazing! Now just waiting on that GFX whats the latest word on that Fred?

The new piece is on order. It is on back-order though so I don't know when it will be here. I talked to someone from team Camaro on saturday at the show and they said it shouldn't be more than a couple weeks. Just a waiting game now...

i agree, it really depends on the color combinations. me personally, i'm ordering rally yellow with the black rally stripes and the GFX kit will be painted black. i think the yellow and black theme will look really good. but it matters that i like it. so paint yours the color you want or don't paint it. it matters what you think of your car

I agree, if I went with your color combination I would be painting the GFX too!

The same happened to mine and my dealer said he got the piece in on Thursday. However, being the Holiday I have to wait until monday before they can get it on. He said it was about an hour and a half job so surely that is more then just two side mounts and some tape. lol!

I got to see my first RJT on Thursday. Dealership I ordered from got it in and they are waiting on both GFX and the 21" rims. I was told to expect a delay in getting my GFX also due to a "problem". From this thread it appears to be well on its way to getting fixed, now it's just a waiting game to get the parts in.

Beautiful car's by the way! RJT is now my second favorite.

had the problem happen to myself two days ago, driving highway speed could hear a vibration sound coming from the front end, pulled over and found the front lip of the ground effects kit laying on the pavement completely totaled. the tape just let go, very aggravating finding out that its only held on with 3m tape.

Yeah the same thing happened to me driving to work the day after I bought the car. I noticed the front spoiler hanging down a little, so I called the dealer and they said to bring it right in, but on the way there the front caught the ground and tore the front spoiler to peices. I have been without the front spoiler for a couple weeks now and have to wait at least another week for the parts to come in. The original only had clips on the sides while the front was held on with 3M tape across the front.
