It has it's good points for sure.

Cruise night in Lombard tonight. Sitting outside Punky's drinking $2.50 PBR watching the cars go by. Nice.

It Looks like the auto industry has some marketing to do. Speaking of that I like the ads for Toyota's new sports car.

Well I think we are up against a youth that really has very little passion for things automotive. Although the auto industry is actually one of THE most hi tech industries on the planet, it is, I fear, only looked on as a archaic smoke stack industry. No one realizes that your average car today not only has to work with your iphone/smart phone, but has to do so safely, meeting incrediblely difficult emission standards and last for many more years than the average ipod or electronic device today ever will.

Plus cars are becoming increasingly more expensive. It is a stretch to buy a $30,000 Camaro for most people under 25. But they can all afford a smart phone and lap top.

How do we fix that? I don't know.

I do know we had fun looking at the cars last night at the cruise and there were a lot of young people there as well. So maybe not all is lost.

The trick is stirring their emotions and intellect. Another reason it's sad to hear that the V8 is on its way out.
