Question about 2012 Camaro

When you hit any of the 3 lock buttons, both doors are supposed to lock, correct?

I'm having a passenger door lock that has a mind of it's own.

When you hit the lock buttons, it should lock both doors. If you hit the unlock button once it will only unlock the driver door. Hit unlock twice and both doors will open. If its doing something other than that, take it to the dealer. It's probably not gonna get any better later.

Yep on my 2012 both doors lock when I hit any of the lock buttons.

I hope your Camaro doesn't end up like my wife's 2006 HHR. Her HHR has been doing what you say your Camaro is doing since 2006 and Chevy has never fixed it. We take it in and they work on it. It works for a year or two and same thing happens again.

We kept it only because it was cheap, we paid cash for it and it is just to drive back and forth to work in it. When we replace it. I am going to take a sledge hammer to it and call the junk yard to come get it. Biggest piece of junk I have ever owned.

Yeah I know, reality hits.

Back to the dealer, more risk of things getting screwed up. If they put 5 miles on my car this time there will be hell to pay.

Did I mention they put 5 miles on my car for a grill install, doesn't that seem a little un-necessary? Did they have to make sure it wouldn't fall out?

I can't stand other people messing with my vehicles.

One nice "lock feature" or unlock as it would be....if your key is in the ignition, car on, if you open your driver door and hit the lock button, both doors will lock, but within 3 seconds, the driver door will unlock itself........it is to keep you from calling OnStar, ha.

I have gone through a bunch of scenarios, you can manually lock it with the key in the ignition, engine running, with an extra set of keys. If you leave the window open and try to open it via the button on the door, won't work, ditto for remote start. (Yes, I have time on my hands.)

Also, and this one is good.........if you do use your remote start, don't forget to put the key in the ignition, ha. I was all over it, wondering why I couldn't get it out of gear, etc....almost made me call OnStar, but the keys in my hand got me to the conclusion.....

Now I gotta figure out what combo makes it happen so they don't act like they can't duplicate the problem. Right now it's back to working like it's supposed to.

That's what they said about my heated seat, "can't duplicate the problem" then the warranty expired and I didn't care because I got rid of that car anyway. I always say that too when someone brings me an intermittent problem and I don't have 3 hours to jack with it.

I'd find a new dealership.

Please let us know if the dealership was able to diagnose the issue you were having with the door locks.

We look forward to good news!

My dealership told me the passenger power door lock will not operate if the door is open. It does lock if the door is closed, but not if open. They stated it is operating as designed. I just use the remote now.
